White House looks down on America--Citizen legislators rise to the challenge in November
The Washington Times ^ | October 13, 2010 | Editorial

Posted on 10/13/2010 5:02:02 PM PDT by jazusamo

Mark Twain once joked that Richard Wagner's music was "better than it sounds." Obama administration officials say in all seriousness that the economy is better than it seems, if only people were smart enough to get it.

The same condescending attitude pervades portrayals of the midterm election as a "revolt of the masses," as if peasants wielding torches and copies of the Constitution were marching on the ivory towers of Washington. MSNBC host Chris Matthews is able to dismiss Republican women candidates as brainless cuties without a peep from the professional feminists who undoubtedly agree with him. These commentators, and Democrats in general, are indignant that what they see as a collection of bitter rednecks clinging to guns and Bibles (to paraphrase then-candidate Barack Obama) is set to destroy the largest congressional governing majority in a generation.

Those who think in such terms are seriously out of touch. Polling shows that Tea Party activists have above-average educations and incomes. Many of those who plan to vote against the president's party are middle- and working-class moderates who voted Democratic in 2008. Others are traditionally conservative voters who sat out the last election but have been newly energized as they see more far-left policies being implemented. Add to the mix a cohort of newly mobilized voters, and the "peasants" begin to look like a broad cross section of America.

I could support that union, maybe with a no strike clause. :)

Obama is sneering racist;A hater of America; A hater of successful and independent people; A hater of his superiors. He knows that he and his ilk can’t compete in the free world. He knows he is incompetent. He knows without affirmative action he would still be preaching to community illiterates. He knows he is the bastard child of a white hodog. He is a sick little weasel and has no place that will accept his hate-filled diatribes against traditions that built this country.

yah...the political hit pieces are starting to come fast and furious out here, and the more Democrat attack ads I see, the more pathetic they get. Not one ad is explaining why you should vote FOR the Democrat, they are all ads trying to telly why you should vote AGAINST Republicans.

The fact that Russ Feingold, Patty Murray, Harry Reid and a whole slew of other Dhimmie Congress Critters are running like their pants are on fire and their asses are catching this year is truly encouraging. I had just about given up hope after the debacle of McCain, and I see voters purging the Republican Party of most of the RINOS, and I believe the rest will be going or gone by 2012.

The 2012 Congressional elections will be even more important than this year because it will be a Presidential year, and I am convinced that the Tea Party will be an even bigger player than it has been this year. Tea has been the purgative this Party has needed for years, and the best is yet to come. It took Jimmy Carter to pave the way for Reagan. Obama is paving the way for the next Jefferson...

Of course, they also blame themselves when they're in public, claiming that their real failure has been in effectively communicating the reality of the emperor's new clothes. Thanks jazusamo.

I've little doubt you're right, the Tea Party people are not going away and will be a lot more organized for the upcoming 2012 election.

Speaking of Congressional seats, I'm sure you've noticed here that the Heck TV ads have nothing whatsoever in them about him being a Democrat. LOL! We have to get Jaime Herrera in!

There are over 195,000 people unemployed in Nevada.

Dirty Harry Reid is running for re-election.

He is running an ad that touts that HE (& only HE) has provided 300 jobs building a solar farm in the southernmost part of Nevada & that he has 1000 wind turbine jobs coming (So is the 2nd Coming of Jesus).
That is a total of 1300 jobs.

DO THE MATH: 1300 jobs with over 195,000 out of work is about 2/3 of ONE PERCENT of the unemployed.

I am amazed that Dirty Harry’s campaign manager thinks we cannot do the math on this ad.....

Another reason to vote Harry into retirement. Let him be Southern Nevada’s problem....not the whole country.

I saw an article about the 300 jobs he was crowing about a day or two ago and couldn’t believe they had the guts to bring it up with the unemployment in NV.

I haven’t kept up with it but I’ve read the unemployment in Clark county and Vegas is horrendous.
