Breaking: Michelle Obama Busted Violating Election Law Campaigning In Polling Place.

First lady Michelle Obama appears to have violated Illinois law today -- when she engaged in political discussion at a polling place!

The drama began after Mrs. Obama stopped off at the Martin Luther King Center on the south side of Chicago to cast an early vote.

After finishing at the machine, Obama went back to the desk and handed in her voting key.

She let voters including electrician Dennis Campbell, 56, take some photos.

"She was telling me how important it was to vote to keep her husband's agenda going," Campbell said.

Illinois state law -- Sec. 17-29 (a) -- states: "No judge of election, pollwatcher, or other person shall, at any primary or election, do any electioneering or soliciting of votes or engage in any political discussion within any polling place, within 100 feet of any polling place."

What's she doing voting in Chicago?

She doesn't live there, does she?

“A top Ilinois State Board of Elections official tells the DRUDGE REPORT that Mrs. Obama — a Harvard-educated lawyer — may have simply been ignorant of the law and thus violated it unintentionally.”

Since when is ignorance of the law a legally defensible excuse?

She knows what she's doing.  The Rookie has trashed the Constitution and thumbed his nose at the written law and some laugh because some think these two have no clue.

If it was me, I’d go to jail.

Since it’s her, I expect nothing to happen.

I agree that she is above the law and will get away with this.

On the other hand, millions of people will see it on Drudge or hear about it from their friends. It certainly won’t help them with their plan to send out the lovely, fashionable Michelle to help campaign for the Democrats because they’re beginning to realize that Obama is too damned unpopular to do it himself.

They may not touch Michelle, but it might result in a few more Democrat congresscritters going down in flames.

It’s Chicago. The rules are different. She was probably only talking to the dead voters/spirits.

Huge news would be if any of the alphabet soup news organizations detached the death lock their lips have bammys kenyan keister long enough to even obliquely reference her royal heinous’ criminal act.

This too will pass, right under the rug with the rest of the dirt.

The Illinois Code also forbids any candidate or political party from being placed on the ballot if they’ve ever had communist associations.

Just another one of those laws that the Obama faction is allowed to ignore...

As I said on the earlier thread why should I pay any attention to anyone who doesn't even know how to spell Illinois.

That's point one. Second point, she stopped there to vote, and voted. No matter how you want to construe or misconstrue the law if she were "electioneering" (didn't even say anything about anyone running for office BTW) would you have had the cops bust her and drag her away in cuffs?

You will notice this rarely happens at any voting station in any state ever ~ and there's a darned good reason for it ~ the polls are for the voters to vote, not as places of entrapment where you can be busted for saying something political.

You really don't want to encourage the giant levitating Wooky's husband to get the idea he can bust people for talking or he'll have Eric Holder and his New Black Panter Party cronies down there waiting for you to "cough", and you'll be in a front leaning rest getting dragged off.

Federal law says the President keeps his legal residence ~ end of story.

Illinois law is irrelevant when it comes to the President's legal residence.

From the Illinois Code:

ARTICLE 7. THE MAKING OF NOMINATIONS BY POLITICAL PARTIES
10 ILCS 5/7-2) (from Ch. 46, par. 7-2)
Sec. 7-2.

[...]

A political party, which at the municipal election in any other municipality or political subdivision, (except townships and school districts), for municipal or other officers therein then next preceding a primary, cast more than 5 per cent of the entire vote cast in such municipality or political subdivision, is hereby declared to be a political party within the meaning of this Article, within said municipality or political subdivision, and shall nominate all municipal or other officers therein under the provisions hereof to the extent and in the cases provided in section 7--1.

Provided, that no political organization or group shall be qualified as a political party hereunder, or given a place on a ballot, which organization or group is associated, directly or indirectly, with Communist, Fascist, Nazi or other un-American principles and engages in activities or propaganda designed to teach subservience to the political principles and ideals of foreign nations or the overthrow by violence of the established constitutional form of government of the United States and the State of Illinois.

Rahm Emmanuel and Barry Obama find themselves in Hell. Rahm is up to his neck in a pit of boiling tar. Obama is in a nearby pit, but is only up to his knees.
“How come, when every thing you did was so much worse than what I did, you’re only up to your knees?” asks Rahm.

Obama says,”I’m standing on Michelle.”

It's not against the law to have a political rally in a church.

You are confounding some arcane IRS rules written by a socio-psychopathic tax collector for Lyndon Baines Johnson when he was drunk.

Eventually they'll be disposed of like trash and we'll dig up his bones and drag them around the streets in celebration.

Besides, IRS is getting tired of the complaints ~ they just trash them more often than not.

Your beef is not with me; I quoted the article and left the spelling as is.

Secondly, the relevant state law reads:

Illinois state law — Sec. 17-29 (a) — states: “No judge of election, pollwatcher, or other person shall, at any primary or election, do any electioneering or soliciting of votes or engage in any political discussion within any polling place, within 100 feet of any polling place.”

Michelle Obama engaged in political discussion and electioneering within a polling place. She broke the law.
