A third-year Boston College Law School student facing dismal job prospects and a mountain of student loan debt has offered the prestigious Hub institution a unique deal: Keep the degree ... and give me back my tuition!

In an open letter to BC Law’s Interim Dean George Brown posted on EagleiOnline— an online student-run newspaper at BC’s law school — the anonymous dissatisfied customer said soon-to-be grads are about to enter “one of the worst job markets in the history of our profession” and an “overwhelming majority” of them can’t find jobs.

“We are discouraged, scared, and in many cases, feeling rather hopeless about our chances of ever getting to practice law,” the student wrote.

Of course not. But these days, I question whether a college degree is really worth anything, especially going into deep debt to get one.

Maybe blue collar careers will come back in vogue.

You can become European. Live with your parents and never
be able to afford your own house and not be able to start
your family. However, the good news is that if you vote
Democratic; we’ll buy you ice cream.

Keep the degree

Does this idiot really think that the sum total of his education is a single sheet of paper, however fancifully decorated?

He got what he paid for, namely a whole lot of knowledge (or at least the chance to get a whole lot of knowledge).

He cannot give it back.

Perhaps this ‘anonymous dissatisfied customer’ can become Obama’s anonymous dissatisfied customer Czar.

The federal, state and local governments hire lawyers by the boatload, and last I checked this is a top-tier school. Does this kid have body odor issues or Tourette syndrome or something?

The time for cost-benefit analysis is BEFORE you make the purchase.

McDonald’s isn’t hiring??

Guess he wanted a partnership as soon as he walked out the door. Maybe he should have done a bit of research BEFORE starting law school about the potential job market & the # of law school grads each year.

actually they do.

the law schools say there is always room for more good lawyers. (no job then you are not good)

they have placement offices on site interviews.

law school is a meaningless overpriced diploma mill today.

If I were the Chancellor of this college, I would take him/her up on the challenge.
I would tell him/her that in exchange, you will surrender your diploma, and we will erase all record of you having ever attended this institution in any way shape or form.
I would then tell this person that it would be so embarrassing to the college to admit that this ignorant and woefully uneducated idiot was able to get a diploma from them that it would be worth the trade..........
