TOKYO – Two mass graves that may hold the remains of up to 2,000 Japanese soldiers have been discovered on the island of Iwo Jima, one of the bloodiest and most iconic battlesites of World War II, a report and officials said Friday.

A team of Japanese searchers has discovered 51 remains in two areas listed by the U.S. military after the war as enemy cemeteries, one of which could contain as many as 2,000 bodies, Japan's Kyodo news agency said Friday.

Okay, I am going to sound very jaded but I am waiting for the U.S. to “apologize” for this event. I hope this just goes away. Just a thought.

With the Big Fool in the WH, it’s almost predictable.

Something has to be "lost" before it can be "found".

‘Virtually all of the 22,000 Japanese soldiers tasked with defending the rugged, volcanic crag were killed in the battle....’

The Japanese fought until the very end on Iwo Jima and would have done the SAME thing on Japan.

Now we know why Harry Truman dropped both A-Bombs.

It saved both US lives and Japanese lives but the left never gets this historical point.

First thing that crossed my mind as well. No telling what the Idiot in Chief will have to say as he stumbles over himself pleading our national guilt.

Doesn't sound like they "discovered" anything. They stumbled upon a well documented gravesite.

I am glad you said that. I have begun to wonder if I was just very jaded or if we can actually predict the lunacy before it happens.

that’s because those on the left cannot conceive of fighting for anything

well, except for the right to kill unborn AMERICAN babies...

(still waiting for the story about researchers ‘discovering’ the mass graves of dead American... babies. enough for 3,000 every day since roe v wade)

Anyone care to speculate on how long before we hear mention in the NYT of bodies recovered with execution style wounds?

“predict”

Is it a prediction or a foregone conclusion?

Isn’t it showing a lack of respect to dig up a documented burial place.

Wow, really underscores the fact that they were a dishonorable enemy. 2,000 dead and they just now get around to accounting for them. 65 years after the fact.
