Barack Obama and his travelling delegation have book at least 800 rooms for the president's trip to Mumbai, according to reports, including the entire Taj Mahal hotel.

"Obama's contingent is huge," a senior Indian security official told the newspaper. "There are two jumbo jets coming along with Air Force One, which will be flanked by security jets. The President's convoy has 45 cars."

The Economic Times also reported that Mr Obama's delegation is so large that another 300 rooms have reportedly been booked in other luxury Mumbai hotels. The scale and cost of the visit is certain to provoke criticism from Mr Obama's Republican foes in the US at a time when the country is mired in economic difficulties, with unemployment standing at nearly 10 per cent.

The report also claimed Mrs Obama has been invited to visit Mumbai's red-light district, the largest in the world, to meet prostitutes and hear about their lives.

This exorbitant India trip is being done deliberatly.

Americans were vociferous about the Fuhrer’s wife trip to Spain.....followed by yet another vacation, where they gorged on lobster.

The arrogant, entitled Obamas decide to show their unmitigated attempt for American opinion.....by booking this expansive trip on the taxpayers’ dime.

Taxpayers who are footing the bills will never be given the courtesy of knowing who is going on this trip.

When the Ohaha’s took that loser trip to Copenhagen to nail the Olympics, we found out later that people like Ill Sen Dick Durbin went along.

BTW, anyone hear from Durbin lately.......as elections loom? ROTFL.

Am I just being ignorant, but don’t we have an embassy in India that could provide a secure place for the president and his family to stay? And why is he taking two jumbo jets full of people on a free vacation at the taxpayers’ expense?

Pres. Bush visited India in, I think, 2006. I don’t recall that his visit was this extravagant and expensive, though. If it had been, it would have been all over the slimy MSM.

It seems like all politicians who fall out of favor with the voters go on world tours. It’s the only place where they won’t get booed. They just have to watch out for flying shoes.

The India trip was extravagant only in terms of what the govt of India did to honor him. It was more than extravagant, it was quite a spectacle from what I have read and Bush said in his entire presidency he was never received quite as well as he was in India. The Kenyan thug’s extravagance on the other hand comes all at the American taxpayer’s dime.

I recall from the reports of Pres. Bush’s trip to India, that the government of India said the US and India had never been closer. It was quite a successful trip, maybe because Pres. Bush didn’t spend every minute of every day talking about himself and bashing the US, but, rather, about the strengths of the US and India. I miss him.
