In a report sure to cause consternation at the White House and in the offices of the Democratic Leadership in Congress, 60 Minutes provided an in-depth report on the realities of the unemployment situation in America today.
When you take into account the underemployed as well as the unemployed, the national rate hits 17% and California a staggering 22%.
To put a face on the realities of the underemployed in America under Obamanomincs, reporter Scott Pelley spoke with a fiber-optics engineering manager who has been looking for work for over a year. He just took a job working at a Target. 20% of the unemployed in America have college degrees.
According to the report, 1/3 of the unemployed have been out of work for over a year. This hasnt happenned since the Great Depression.
Airing one week before the mid-term elections, this report explains better than anything, exactly what is at stake for our country on November 2.
The only shock is that CBS is admitting it. The 17% rate has been known for quite a while on this forum.
The only solution to this is to expand the H1-B program. Not.
It’s hard to gauge the impact of this.
After all, voters elected FDR to 4 terms during the great depression.
They simply have to be made to believe only gvt can make it better.
Plus when your daily sustenance comes from the gvt, you tend to sing their tune...
I’m shocked!!! (/sarc)
The 20% in California will explode after the elections if the people there elect the Democrats to run the state. The numbers of companies leaving the state is about 150 a month. This because of the Democrats and their policys.
Baraq has added 14 mil to the food stamp ranks in two years, that's a lot of voters.
Yep, this election is the last chance for California.
From 60 Minutes? The Left ARE beginning to eat their own. Break out the popcorn!
Then it will be the mean Republicans fault when they point out there aren't enough trees on the planet to print enough money to pay for this!
” Baraq has added 14 mil to the food stamp ranks in two years, that’s a lot of voters. “
Yeah - but a significant portion of those 14 mil are people who, up until a short time ago, were working and earning, and they’re likely to view ‘going on food stamps’ as demeaning - which means that a lot of ‘em are pi$$ed off about being there....
According to the government, if you have given up looking for a job because you can't find one, you are no longer unemployed!!!
By this twisted “logic”, if the government could stop everyone from looking for a job they could drive the official unemployment rate to zero. Problem solved!
“After all, voters elected FDR to 4 terms during the great depression.”
“They simply have to be made to believe only gvt can make it better.”
It is called propaganda run by the radio, TV and newspapers. In FDR’s time there was no TV. Today you can blame morons who watch TV for Obama. Without TV he would be nothing. TV brainwashes the idiots who watch it and no Saudi Prince Al Waleed’s Fox News is not our “friend.” He also is a major shareholder in CNN and ABC.
I got off TV and Hollywood’s Matrix a year ago and I do not miss their sh**ty propaganda and brainwashing.
The demeaning of food stamps is wearing off. They get credit cards so if you are behind someone using food stamps you can barely tell.
People like free stuff, the majority of Americans anymore are morons addicted to TV and probably some other substance abuse.
If the number gets much more than 20%, watch for riots. In some cities across the country, crime has already gone up by 40%+.
Especially right before the election. I would have expected a show about the Obama girls crayon drawings etc.
Good for you! I have been free for more than eight years. No TV, no radio, no movies; life is good!
Just a slight adjustment to your comment on his way of thinking.........
I believe it’s even higher than that.
