REJECTED: Obama, Biden Play to Half-Full Arena in Last 2010 Campaign Stop

Brack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden made their last campaign rally appearance in a nearly half-empty college arena in Cleveland today.

CBS News' Mark Knoller Tweeted that the Democrat National Committtee says that the 13,600 seat arena had about 8,000 in attendance for the rally held at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center.

Before the rally, the Associated Press speculated that the crowd was not going to fill the arena.

Obama's (sic) was expected to appear about 2:30 p.m. at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center. A crowd was trickling in about an hour before the president was expected, raising questions whether the arena, which can hold up to 14,000 people, would be filled.

At 1:30 p.m., only the lower bowl was full, though hundreds of people had crowded onto a portion of the floor before the stage.

Knoller's Tweet:

DNC says there were 8,000 people at the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State Univ. Full capacity is about 13,600.

Can’t blame the NFL — the Browns have a bye today. And, remember, this is a city where nearly half the population is black. Looks like, despite all of his blatant race-baiting, SOBama is losing the Old Black Magic.

The sadest part of the whole Onada thing is that he has probably delayed, for the foreseeable future, the election of a credible and eligible black person to the Presidency.

They rather watch the Browns.

Yes, even in their bye-week!

Grammy award-winning hip-hop artist Common performed for the crowd, saying he was drawn to politics by the ideal Mr. Obama stood for. Mr. Obama also stumped Sunday for the election of Democratic U.S. Senate hopeful Lee Fisher, Mr. Strickland’s current lieutenant governor who trails Republican Rob Portman by double digits in public polls.

Even a hip-hop “artist’ couldn’t lure them in.

Pal, if you think that's the "saddest part" of his occupation, you need to pay better attention!

They really needed to invite 67-year-old Father Guido Sarducci to give the benediction if they wanted to appeal to the young voters.

Maybe a lot watched SNL last night and
thought it was real.
The show opened with a message from “ Vice President Biden “ sitting at his desk.
The amiable dunce Biden character starts talking about how important the
upcoming election is .
Then he says “ We’re going to get our asses handed to us.
It’s going to be a good old fashioned bloodbath.”
He goes on to compare the upbeat attitude of the trapped Chilean miners with the upset US voters.
He advises that when you go into the voting booth-ask yourself one important question
“ Are you above ground ? “ and then he says -” that’s all I’ve got.”
He closes with :
“ So, when you go to the polls on Tuesday .....or not.....or not.
Won’t matter.
Like I said ....bloodbath.”
SNL won’t touch Barry or Mooch, but, this was pretty funny and timely.
