Toomey hopes for 10 p.m. victory speech
Politico ^ | 11.2.10 | Dan Hirschhorn

Democrats in Pennsylvania have spent all day hyping reports of higher-than-expected turnout in Philadelphia and other blue strongholds.

But less than an hour before polls close, we're getting other estimates, and they paint to a more difficult path for Democratic Rep. Joe Sestak in his Senate race against Republican Pat Toomey.

The poll-watching group Committee of Seventy says only a couple wards in Philly have so far reported turnout exceeding 30 percent — a far cry from predictions by city Democratic Party boss Bob Brady that turnout would surpass the 2006 election.

You have to understand the vote totals change based on the precincts reporting in. Those numbers were from heavily Dem populated areas. Too soon to call but I think Toomey wins this with the Governor called for the Republican already.

This is looking real bad for Toomy, he is now trailing by over 100,000 votes with over 35% of the polls reporting.....

This link has live results.

Toomey has been trailing Corbett’s percentage by 4 percentage points since the returns started to come in. At 9:36 with 41% counted, Corbett has pulled even with Onorato, but Toomey is still 4 points back of Sestak.

Hopefully, Philly reported early and the rest of the Commonwealth will provide the margin of victory for Toomey as well.

You’re right, if Philly isn’t all in already it will be tough for Toomey to find the voltes. I heard he and Sestak are tied in Bucks COunty. Not good.

Well, Fox has Fitzpatrick currently beating Murphy (which is Bucks/philly suburbs area) so that should bode well for Toomey. Fingers crossed he can beat the margin of fraud sure to come out of North/West Philly.

Pittsburgh and Philly have already reported. Now it’s the rural areas that will put Toomey over the top.

Looking better, but Toomey is basically down 52-48 while Corbett is leading 52-48. Not the best sign for Toomey.

Democratic fraud machines in full effect in Illinois and Pennsylvania...I don’t trust either state until all the votes are counted.

I agree, however, if Kirk loses, we will have lost all of our chances to stop the lame duck bills because the states that could have prevented this (DE, WV, and perhaps IL) have all been loses for us.
