Liberals Are Terrified Because Pelosi And Reid Are Still Around

Joe Weisenthal
Nov. 8, 2010, 10:26 AM

The election result was really the worst-possible result for Obama's 2012 re-election prospects in part because Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid -- two much-hated Democrats -- aren't going anywhere.

The Democrats held the Senate, and Reid held off Sharron Angle, so on that side of Congress, he's still the man in charge.

And Pelosi wants to stay on as Minority Leader, though she's angered the NYT (!) editorial page, which has asked her to step aside.

They claim it's because she's not a good communicator, and thus her skill set doesn't match the job, but that's not the real reason. It's because everyone hates her, and she'll hurt the Democrats in 2012.

NONSENSE! She’s much loved, she got 75% of the votes in her district!

She won’t be coronated Minority Leader and she’ll leave Congress.

And then the leaks will start.

There is not enough popcorn in the world.

I thought she is and was a great communicator. What has changed. Look at all the House votes on legislation she won. You really can’t win without being a great communicator.

yes, let them remain the ‘face’ of the liberal democrats for the next two years to continue to inflame people and remind them to finish the job in 2012!

Oh no, PLEASE let her stay! She will be a fantastic target of obstructionism and anti-Americanism for the next two years! Personally, I rub my hands in glee at the thought... LOL

Think about it.

We were so blessed and didn’t know it. In just two years, America was almost transformed into a Marxist nation.

There are three faces representing this nightmare and they remain as a daily warning to never give in, never surrender.

If BO had run as VP in 2008 - he would have gathered more converts and momentum for 2016. His premature arrogance will sink him and his ilk in 2012. A lesson learned for millenia.

Now who’s lucky?

She's not a communicator in the Reagan sense. With Obamacare she bribed congressmen with the public trough, and also sold them a bill of goods - telling them that Obamacare was their key to relection.

Weirdly grinning fascists like Pelosi can only communicate with the greedy and corrupt, because she offers them something they accept as legal tender. She's shrill and unpleasant as they come - and why not? She doesn't need to communicate with The People.

Notice that the Dems are begging her not to seek the Minority Leadership. Begging her. Not telling her to sod off and eat worms (which would have been my first instinct). This makes me think that she not only drove Obamacare with false or corrupt promises - she also has the goods on a lot of congressmen.

I continue to say that the Dems MUST elect Pelosi as their leader. After all, we need a record of which Congressman supports her so we can finish the mop up operation in 2012

Huh? When you have a 79 seat majority you can get anything you want passed without saying a word.

She is still here, and oh so many of her loons in both houses......

Frank, Dingell, Waxman, Rangel, Conyers, etc.....

But they are the king and queens of nothing...

1.) They have lost their Chairmanships ( In the House ).

2.) They are the minority party.

3.) They will go further left and come unhinged do to loss of power.

4.) They will embarrass themselves and give more political will to average Americans to throw them out the next time around...

5.) Investigations... How many will be called up, and I still say after January, what happens to Conyers with all the Detroit Corruption and everyone going to jail, what is his fate?

But the best thing?

Many will be redistricted out of existence...

Schadenfreude alert, it will be fun to watch them all melt like the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz....

The Democrat's Nancy Pelosi disaster is what happens when a candidate that is wildly popular within her own fan club but unpopular with America, as a whole, is crammed down America's throat.

Pelosi Unfavorable to 71% of Americans

I know that many of us were disappointed on Election Night that Harry Reid managed to successfully press his enormous political, financial and organizational advantages over Sharon Angle. But he serves a valuable purpose for Republicans looking to seize the big prize in 2012, as does Nancy Pelosi, who had no chance of being defeated in her partisan district, but still seems determined to keep a high national profile.

In 1994, the GOP won control of Congress by effectively nationalizing the election around the Contract With America. But almost immediately, the Democrats circled the wagons with their news media auxiliary and began the process of demonizing the Republican victors (does anyone recall Time magazine's cover in December of that year: "The Gingrinch Who Stole Christmas"?). As propaganda goes, it was unusually crude, but even crude propaganda can be effective.

And it worked for several reasons. The first of these is because the GOP now had a "face" (Newt's) to counter the Democrats' (Clinton's), but the Republicans had run against Congress more than Clinton, who was still personally popular and appeared willing to work with them (as he in fact did, if only for a while).

The media could also be counted on back in those pre-FOX News, pre-Internet blog days to get in line and parrot the Democrat narrative and promote their agenda unquestioningly. And, beginning with the Time hit piece they did just that; so that even before the Contract With America was largely implemented, Newt Gingrich became the frequent target of Nastygrams from the media machine.

Finally, the GOP failed to successfully build on the Contract in '96 because they reverted to Bush 41-era form, allowing the squishy, "moderate", pre-Reagan party wing to dominate. This resulted in the disastrous nomination of Bob Dole as the next-guy-in-line candidate in '96, and an effective neutering of the gains made in 1994.

Skip ahead 15 years now, and following the disaster of 2008, the GOP finds itself in much better shape. They've won control of the House, and without a single nationally-known face for the Left to isolate, polarize and personalize. We've got an alternative media that prevents the Democrats from promoting a uniform political narrative in opposition. For their part, the Democrats have the liability of three identifiable and unpopular faces that the Republicans can focus on in the drive to 2012: Reid, Pelosi and President Obama, who is no Bill Clinton - what he lacks in the latter's political triangulation skills he more than compensates for with ideological rigidity and a brittle personality.

In sum, even though Republicans didn't win the Senate this past week, I think they've got a lot to be happy about; assuming they play the right cards, which is to say: from the Tea Party deck and face up.
