Have been through the Pittsburgh checkpoints recently. The TSA personnel are very professional and respectful.

This would be in contrast to the officious, self-important gestapo “guarding” the Kansas City airport.

I rather get pat down than have the body scan. The radiation in those are really bad for you. I think any little bit can help with all the crazy terrorist out there.

““I truly feel that it is morally and ethically wrong to do it,” the agent noted. “This does not make flying safer. It’s just taking away American citizens rights.””

It is also criminal. So quit.

While I know certain elements here will say that TSA is perfect Jack boot thug training, there was a person that asked the Cop Talk section of Glock Talk if working for TSA would enhance his chances for employment as a police officer when the hiring agency was considering job experience.

The concept and the TSA was universally ridiculed and bashed by the officers on the forum.

I agree with the agent’s words on this point. Obviously, however, the agent doesn’t completely agree with his own words, or he’d quit.

Much as I hate the actions of the TSA staff, I realize they never expected to be in such an ethical morass. It’s difficult to admit that you are being asked to do immoral things, and harder to admit that, if you stay, you might not be able to avoid becoming immoral yourself. I have experience with quitting a job where I realized I was working for criminals (it was a job with the University of California, by the way). The best advice I can give to someone who is considering quitting due to ethical considerations: quit, get a good night’s sleep (might be the first good night’s sleep you’ve had in a while), accept that your life will temporarily become much more difficult, let people help you pick up the pieces, and move on. None of those actions were easy for me, and they might not be easy for you, but they are the right thing to do.

Since they have yet to catch a terrorist maybe they should reevaluate what they are doing.

Then where is the spine of the TSA Agents? Why are they not en masse saying this is wrong? Talk is cheap.

I would suggest there WAS indeed a significant public backlash against the TSA's attempt to assault the Fourth Amendment this past Thanksgiving. And it worked !

Just as was done to photographs showing the size and scope of the Tea Party march on Washington DC as well as the (August 28) 8/28 DC Rally, the Main Stream Media REFUSED to report what really happened. The MSM has done it before and will do it again and again. The MSM is an organ of Obama's administration.

I believe the TSA had orders to Stand Down on using their naked scanning machines and their sexual assault pat-downs to the traveling public on Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving Day.

Some TSA gropers may be temporarily experiencing some pangs of conscience while they conduct pre-detention-style searches of air passengers. Something seems awry when the TSA orders that every air passenger be treated as a potential terrorist. Perhaps a few are even aware that the 4th Amendment prohibits unreasonable searches, and that no reasonable human being would suspect an elderly, native-born nun or a crippled, native-born child of being a terrorist.

Ever hear of the Milgram Experiment?

The pangs of conscience will dissipate as the TSA gropers learn to rationalize that, since they are merely agents for a recognized authority (US TSA), they bear no moral responsibility for what they do. They’re just following orders.

I’d do a lot of things to keep shelter over my family’s head and food on the table but rubbing another man’s testicles in a security line ain’t one of them.

I have left two jobs this last year because I was unwilling to follow the companies unethical and/or unsafe practices. This last time I was without work for 4 months, but that is all right. I still have my integrity and now I am back on a project for a few months.

Unfortunately, there are many “morally and ethically” corrupt jackasses that are willing and eager to take this guy’s job.
