Many of us made our disgust known to Omaha Steaks for their clear political agenda driven decision to pull their advertising from Glenn Beck's show.
They initially sent several of us an email defending their decision and NOW they've sent a new email from the president, essentially saying, 'no, no, no'.....that's not what we really meant.
I guess they've really felt the heat from us! Below is the new email...
>>>>Buy Costco meats, far cheaper and taste great!!
You’ve obviously never had non-industirally produced meat.
Find a local meat shop that sells beef that was raised nearby, and butchered on site. You’ll change your tune.
You are 100% Correct! But You forgot to mention that beside being overpriced little bits of meat, it also is quite mediocre meat which is not Prime which they try to make You believe You are getting!
Quite a shyster outfit to say the least!
What a shame this company feels so threatened by Socialists/Communists when they live and work in this beautiful country. Glenn Beck is to some a National Treasure, at least he loves his country and stands by his Faith. Shame on Omaha Steaks!!!
Funny!
I guess they realized that the tofu-eating anti-Beck zealots in SF, NY and Seattle are not exactly big steak consumers!
“Obama” Steaks??
Yes, well, they are just the canned response they have sent me a couple of times today as they try to wipe this piece of gum off of their shoe. I have responded back to them, but they aren’t really writing anything. I’m sure now they are sorry they didn’t just ignore the stupid lefty website, but they’ve made a mess and they can’t really take it back. Idiots. They should have ignored him.

I received a large package of Omaha steaks as a gift some years ago. They were O.K. - but nothing special. After learning of their apparent attempt to bow to the demands of leftist loons that are trying to get Glenn Beck off the air, then, when confronted with public anger, backpedaling on it and pretending that it was 'all a misunderstanding', I'll never buy anything from this company. Ever.
LOL. Good enough. Just send that to him in email and tell Mr Simon to stop lying.
Here’s the response I got:
“We felt that advertising on the Glenn Beck Program could be
mis-interpreted as an endorsement of Mr. Beck’s political views. Since
Omaha Steaks has no affiliation with Mr. Beck, nor do we ever endorse any
political affiliations, views or beliefs, we felt it was in our best
interest to discontinue these ads.”
But according to the post No. 17 by AlmaKing it looks like they flat out lied to me in the above response.
This is the email from Omaha Steaks I received last night in response to pulling my business from them:
“Dear Friend,
We felt that advertising on the Glenn Beck Program could be
mis-interpreted as an endorsement of Mr. Beck’s political views. Since
Omaha Steaks has no affiliation with Mr. Beck, nor do we ever endorse any
political affiliations, views or beliefs, we felt it was in our best
interest to discontinue these ads.
Sincerely,

They are in Damage Control mode.
They’re still catching hell on their Facebook wall:

I’ve never had it... what is the difference?
I agree, the ARE extremely over priced , small chunks of thinly sliced meat, shrink-wrapped in an over sized package. They figure out to be about $35.00 per pound and they taste like low grade boot leather.
(Yes, I have been ripped off by them before.)
My wife and I had a friend send us a “package gift deal” just one time and were hounded for years there after by their sales department. We finally had to tell them to leave us alone. We buy all our beef from a local farmer, custom raised and butchered. (Even the burger we get is vastly superior to their steaks.)
I learned the error of my ways when I realized I could get better meat for cheaper prices at my local Costco. Quicker, too.
Seriously, the steaks and hamburgers were okay. But not top notch as implied.
We paid $50 for four sirloin, five hamburgers, some stuffed potatoes, four chicken breast. About what you'd pay if you bought them from your corner supermarket.
>>>Ive never had it... what is the difference?
Taste. Can’t really describe it - but once you’ve had quality beef from a non-industrial/factory/feedlot source - you’ll know it. And never want to have anything else.
