Having gays admit the fact isn’t going to do a damn thing to the military or FR.

If homosexuals (gays and lesbians) are allowed to serve in the military openly, I think it will be a friggin' disaster.

If I may ask... Were you ever in the military ?

I was in the Marine Corps about 30 years ago. I was in Radio Communications with an Amtrac (tracked vehicle) unit.

From what I remember of what it is like to be in the military in my young 20's, having gays openly serving definitely will not work in that environment. Remember - the military is a highly testosterone charged environment with tough guys in their early 20's all eager to prove themselves. And of course handling very destructive weapons and driving heavy equipment are all part of the job.

That environment is no place to be out and proud and flying a rainbow flag, so to speak. Lots of opportunities for things to happen to someone no one likes...

Many other posters further back in this message thread have talked with current military and the overwhelming majority will not put up with it. They will leave, or if forced to deal with it, they will deal with it... and it won't be pretty.

The best thing for anyone confused about their sexuality or gender identity in the military is to take just keep to yourself and focus on the job and becoming the best Marine (or soldier or sailor or airman or whatever) one can be.

Celebrating diversity and LGBT rights is for the civilian world, NOT the military.

I was having a discussion about this with several active/veteran military folks just this evening. They were USAF and Navy, if memory serves.

The prevailing (overwhelming) opinion was that discipline and professionalism - especially in an all-volunteer military - will override the desire of gay service members who might want to flaunt their sexual proclivities.

The best thing for anyone confused about their sexuality or gender identity in the military is to take just keep to yourself and focus on the job and becoming the best Marine (or soldier or sailor or airman or whatever) one can be.

From what the folks at the party I went to told me, that is precisely what the vast majority of gay servicemembers are already doing. The problem, as with any large group of people, is with a few arseholes who make a nuisance of themselves.

So the faggot agenda is fine everywhere except in the military? IOW sexual perversion SHOULD be "celebrated" everywhere except in the military?

Glad you're being honest at least.
