Tea Party Express email I recieved today:

The Tea Party Express is pleased to announce that we have agreed to partner with CNN to host the first-ever Tea Party Presidential Debate for GOP candidates for president.

This is a huge victory for the tea party movement as we will not only hold Republican candidates accountable for supporting tea party principles of limited government, but it also helps build further momentum for the tea party movement in getting our message heard to more and more people.

We will be full partners with CNN, jointly making decisions with them about the debate, and we will ensure that this debate reflects tea party principles, and we appreciate the opportunity to have those values represented over the airwaves of CNN.  Folks, we continue to expand our reach, and we couldn't be more thrilled.

You can read the news report from CNN on this historic venture - HERE.

And you can help us at the Tea Party Express continue to expand our fight for smaller government, lower taxes, less spending and a return to constitutional principles.

I would love to see a Dem debate on fox, with Crowley, Greta and Ingraham as moderators.

I think it obvious that there should have been a TPX-CNN Dem primary debate for balance.

But good luck anyway...

Hmmm, this will be the biggest audience of the year for CNN, if any of that advertising moola goes to the Tea Party that will be a plus.

Really really stupid idea. CNN will control the production and do their best to make sure candidates look as stupid as possible. CNN will provide the moderator, not the TPE, and CNN will ask the questions, invariably of the format, "When do you plan to stop starving innocent children, now or after you deprive thousands of deserving young immigrants of their civil rights? "

What do these idiots think "partner with CNN" means, anyway? It's the same as "reaching across the aisle."

Every serious candidate and would-be candidate should boycott this disaster in the making.

The CNN announcement doesn’t speak of ‘jointly made decisions’ between itself and the TPE about the debate. Hope they don’t dominate on things like choosing the ‘moderator’ and/or panel of (biased, snarky) journalists.

Since the spring of 2009, the Tea Party movement has been increasingly vocal in advocating for less government spending, lower taxes and shrinking the deficit. The Tea Party debate will place specific emphasis on those issues.

Ah. The things the Republicans like to talk about and campaign on but never actually do.

The "Tea Party Express," of course, being a Republican group, will have no problem giving them some more cover on that, though, I'm sure.

By the way, we've seen some of the "Tea Party" "leaders" who say conservatives should have nothing to do with "social" issues. Isn't the "specific emphasis" here a tip off about where that attitude is emanating from?

The Tea Party and its efforts are fantastic.

The “Tea Party Express” is not. Take a good look at who is behind it and you will find a lot of people out for themselves who could care shit for the Tea Party and its ideals.

The Tea Party and the Tea Party Express are two, completely different things and this teaming up with CNN should be a big clue.

Anderson Cooper is going to be VERY disappointed when he finds out it’s the Tea Party and not the teabaggers.

I let the Tea Party Express know what I thought of them ‘partnering’ with CNN,—who called the Tea Party the vulgar homosexual term ‘teabaggers’, reported when almost 2 million people showed up on 9-12 that ‘tens of dozens’ of people were there......and let them know I will never give another penny and unsubscribed from the Tea Party Express email...
