WASHINGTON (AP) A ruling by the Obama administration allowing the sale of gasoline containing 15 percent ethanol is running into legal hurdles from trade groups opposing the plan.
The National Petrochemical and Refiners Association sued the Environmental Protection Agency on Monday over the decision to allow the sale of gasoline containing higher blends of corn-based ethanol, the second major group to protest the ruling.
The Obama administration said in October that gas stations could start selling the ethanol blend for vehicles built since the 2007 model year, increasing it from the current blend of 10 percent ethanol.

At least a break even thing when it comes to mileage, but a big deal when it comes to repairs to my vehicle's engine.
For my numerous small gasoline engines, no way I will burn anything other than ethanol free gasoline.

Let me know how well it works.
Cheers
Don’t need it. I am happy with the one I have.
“Its the standard grade of field corn.”
Which is good for what - hogs?
What's the species of animal, its age, general health, purpose? What else is in the current ration and what else would be available? That sort of a thing.
62% of (most) field corn is starch; ethanol production removes virtually all of this, but nothing else. So the first question would be to determine what specific nutrients the corn was intended to provide the animal and what other sources are available. Swine, for instance, have digestive systems similar to humans and require the starch for their carcasses to show the desired amount of fat. Cattle, on the other hand have a wholly different digestive system and can produce sugar from fiber.
If you're looking for a one size fits all statement, the summary of a University of Nebraska feedlot trial I'm looking at would be pretty good (at least for cattle)
...feedlot trials replacing dry-rolled or high moisture corn with wet distillers grain plus solubles (WDGS) indicated WDGS fed between 15% to 40% of diet DM (dry matter) was 130% the feeding value of corn. Feed: Gain, ADG (average daily gain), marbling score, and fat thickness responded quadratically as WDGS inclusion increased. In most cases performance and carcass characteristics improved up to 30% to 40%, then gradually decreased. Feeding WDGS up to 40% of DM improved performance and quality grade.
I’d just be happy if they didn’t run the ethanol industry on our dime. Then again, without our dime, most of it would collapse, and your objective would nearly be achieved. :-)
I know that some gas pumps will tell you the ethanol content. I assume anything I buy, for now, is E-10.

You’re right. y way - outlawing - is what the Liberals do. I don’t want to do things that way. Let the free market decide. That’s the right way.
Ethanol ruins gas pumps and underground storage tanks.
Ethanol is alcohol and mixes with water, not oil.
Has water in gasoline ever been a good thing?
Ohhh geeeez Louise...WAKE UP, America.
I prefer mine with diet coke.
Speaking of which, time for a refill :^)
