Limbaugh says Dems playing politics with Giffords shooting

CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney

Washington (CNN) - Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh offered a vigorous defense of himself and Sarah Palin Monday in response to claims from some media commentators and those on the left that some of their charged statements and colorful language may have inspired the Arizona shootings.

"[The media] is unnecessarily stirring up the country in ways that don't merit," Limbaugh said on his radio program Monday. "It's fatuous and silly to even verify and justify these accusations by defending them. The premise is insane, it's silly, it's beneath these people. Or is it? It is who they are."

Limbaugh's comments come in response to accusations that the charged political atmosphere of 2010 – of which Limbaugh, Palin, and others played a central role – may have incited the use of violence among troubled individuals like Jared Lee Loughner, the suspect that is accused of opening fire outside a Tucson supermarket, where Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was meeting with constituents Saturday.

"We are we constantly admonished not to rush to conclusions. Now…reporters are bending over backwards to link this shooting to me, to Sarah Palin, to an entire industry - talk radio," Limbaugh said. "Only in these instances is something said in the media said to influence public behavior.

I would like Rush to stop calling this guy Loughner a kid.
I hardly consider this insane man a kid.

As Rush said today: the plans have been drawn up, they are sitting in a drawer, somewhere in Washington. Sooner or later there will be an incident that fits their needs more closely, and at that time they are going to make a move to shut down all discussion of political topics by conservatives, including the internet, and to criminalize the discussion of those topics as “hate speech” and “inciting violence” and “endangering innocent lives.”

Ain’t gonna happen as long as we(Conservatives) hold on to the House and/or Senate!

Rush is spot on. This asshat that created this situation is a nut. He Killed people and I pray the hardest for the family of that child. The Pima County Sheriff is a shit-wad and has no need to be in a position of responsibility. I pray

obama has made 46 threatening violent statements AIMED at us... the right! Malkin has them on her website today. He calls us his “enemies”. When has a president... other than obama... ever called for attacks upon Americans? obama is responsible... probably more than anyone else but the shooter... because he... the president of the United States... has an ideology straight from the ghettos of soweto and his cousin... the muslim, raping, murdering pilferer... odinga.

I remember the young Rush of the 1990s did more than state the obvious. I was listening today for a-while but got bored.

Ya know what, the media should try to get an interview with Loughner, and ask him “Do you like Sarah Palin” I think I have a pretty good idea what he would say..the media has ZERO evidence this guy followed Sarah Palin on facebook, read her book(Funny how on his favorite book list I don’t see Going Rogue there), went to any of her rallies, nothing..he has NO connection to her, but you know how it is, if you tell a lie enough times some morons might end up believing it

We are surprised in what way exactly?

Personally, I was surprised that this story was reported by CNN, and that Rush Limbaugh was quoted accurately, and in context.

Other than that, no surprises.

The media including Fox didn’t miss a beat in laying this at Palin’s feet and at the “tea party’s” feet.

Its almost as if they had the strategy all ready and were just waiting for the excuse to launch.

Propagandists never sleep. They sit at their keyboards looking for another way to apply the propaganda. If the sun comes up in the morning, its all thanks to Obama. If its too hot, though, its Palin and the tea party.

Thanks Rush.

Thank you Rush Limbaugh.

Thanks for all you do and especially thanks for taking on the liberal haters and their equally hateful double standards...

Again, thanks Rush - you're keeping all of us safe.

The left is quick to blame a “right-wing inspired climate of hate” as the trigger for these murders. They are, as always, totally wrong. What was the climate of hate that inspired Mark Chapman to murder John Lennon? Did he find the lyrics to “Imagine” to be too vitriolic? John F. Kennedy was revered by the left and respected by the right. Did the quiet, pre-Viet Nam era of Camelot cause Lee Harvey Oswald to take a sniper’s rifle into the Texas School Depository Building? And what right-wing talk radio host caused Sirhan Sirhan to shoot Bobby Kennedy? Bob Grant?

In Animal Farm, the collectivists used the death of Major, the pig, to advance their cause.

Bill Clinton tried to make something of the OK City bombing.

Then there was the Wellstone memorial.

Now this.

Rahm said it, don’t let a crisis go to waste.

So you want to give government the power to ban “occult” or heavy metal or whatever?

Without freedom of speech there is no freedom and only a socialist dictatorship like North Korea remains.

This nut is solely responsible for this 1 in a trillion actions that happened that day.

People in the welfare state projects murder most of the 20,000 people killed each year in the U.S.

influence someone like Loughner to kill someone but the occult and Heavy Metal can’t?

No, they don't; I don't have an interest in the occult, but I'm a big fan of metal music. I don't feel the urge to go out and kill people.

Every federal and state agency will declare they knew of this or that component, but not all the pieces. If they only had more funding and more control, they might have been able to have prevented this...........

And guess who funds their budgets?

The memo like the one earlier by DHS is only the beginning. Every alphabet soup agency will be at this trough for quite some time.

Dude is a hard-left, anti-government nutjob. Probably is an anarchist.

Why would he be listening to Rush Limbaugh? Or Sarah Palin?

The Main-Stream Media is so virently hard-left that they can’t even think straight. But huge amounts of the population don’t even realize that.

Both sides are.

Nonsense. ONLY the left are exploiting the deaths and wounding of innocents for political payoff. ONLY the left began a blood libel on TV and in print mere minutes after these murders.

They are evil ghouls...who care not for the suffering others, except how to use them for their own ends.

The Right has ZERO to do with this event.
