Hell no! The bastard cost me over 5000 dollars during the tobacco buy out and whoever runs against him is who I will vote for. He can take his maccia and shove it.

Two other names are out there, but I don’t know if they are serious candidates:

Corey Stewart - Prince Wm. Bd. Chair
Jamie Radke - Tea Party activist

Would rather see some new blood, but Allen was popular as a governor and his loss in 2006 was probably due less to the macaca incident than it was to the fact that Republicans in VA just did not turn out for him or else found Webb acceptably moderate and wanted to send a message to Bush.

Democrats will turn out in bigger numbers in 2012, so it won’t be a cakewalk for any Republican senatorial candidate.

If Allen wants it, he’ll have to get the Tea Party crowd behind him and fight for it. I don’t think it’s going to be handed to him this time.

It will be interesting to see if Webb decides to hang it up. His was a fluke win in a race that was exclusively designed to weaken (but not finish off) Allen’s chances for President in ‘08. If Allen returns to his fighting form as he was as Governor (”Knock their (libs) soft teeth down their whiny throats !”), he should be able to make amends for a lackluster previous Senate term.

It’s an excellent idea. And I for one can’t wait to work my ample backside off for him.

I think it helps that Dick Wadhams, who worked on the 06 Allen campaign, is back in Colorado and won’t be in the equation this time.

I also wonder if the presidential race will have any impact. I would think that Virginia snapped out of its Obama-mania trance from 08, if the 09 and 10 elections are any indication. Still, if the state turns out to be close, and I would think Obama would be spending money here, would Allen be strong enough to win if the presidential race turns out to be close or if, ugh, Obama actually managed to carry it a second time?

Allen’s apologizing for macacca made him appear weak ... His campaign imploded and now, his time has passed.

Very well said Ralph...Why can't we get some new blood?

Cuccinelli is funny. One of his recent Facebook postings:

Do you know which district Corey Stewart is in? I think Frank Wolf in VA’s 10th could use a good primary challenger.

Wolf has a challenger. It was announced this weekend.
Ken Vaughn is challenging him (of course it could change depending on what happens with redistricting). Ken is a strong constitutional conservative. He led the NoVA 912 group.

Full disclosure - I am involved with his campaign.

Please help if you can. The only way we can get rid of the RINO’s is to beat them early - that means primary challenges.

Eastern Prince William County is in VA 11 which is held by Gerald Connelly-D. Keith Fimian-R gave him a good battle, but ended up losing.

Other parts are in VA-01 and VA-10 and those are already represented by Republicans. So VA-11 is the target.

VA-11 was held by Tom Davis-R from 1995-2008 but has become tougher for Republicans because so many government contractors live there whose livelihood and wealth depend on continued expansion of government. They are not very receptive to a Republican platform of smaller government.

With all due respect, they’re all targets until all the seats are held by constitutional conservatives.

Ooops, did I say “target”? My bad.

But is he a RINO or a real conservative?

A strong conservative. I'd welcome him back in a minute. However, he needs to have a top-notch campaign group working for him. For starters, perhaps (if not already in the process) he should look into hiring Gov. McDonnell's team, if possible.
