State Sen. Leland Yee Launches Boycott of Rush Limbaugh Advertisers
Contra Costa Times ^ | Wednesday, January 26, 2011 | Mike Rosenberg

State Sen. Leland Yee is going after another right-wing heavyweight, this time launching a boycott of any companies that advertise on Rush Limbaugh's radio show.

Yee, a Democrat who represents northern San Mateo County and western San Francisco, began reaching out Tuesday to dozens of civil rights organizations to ask them to condemn Limbaugh.

His staff has compiled a list of the show's sponsors and, with the help of the community groups, will begin putting pressure on them to pull their advertisements from the show. Yee also wants people to stop patronizing the show's advertisers and has launched an online petition for residents to join the boycott.

Yee decided to initiate the protest after Limbaugh "mocked the Chinese language and culture" during his Jan. 19 radio program and refused to apologize.

"I think this is very damaging for children (to hear that) Rush Limbaugh thinks it's OK to make fun of another language or make fun of those individuals who may speak another language," Yee said.

Yee said he's simply looking for an apology, which he hopes will start Limbaugh down a road toward "internal reflection" about his actions.

His staff has compiled a list of the show's sponsors

Shouldn't they be more worried about the bankruptcy of California?!

I was thinking exactly the same thing - how does a state senator from a FAILING STATE have the time to regulate speech?
The citizens of CA are really STUPID to keep guys like this employed when they are on their butts economically, financially , morally and any other which way...
so glad I got the hell out of that state - too bad my bro is still there, suffering.

State Sen. Leland Yee Joins SF Mayor's Race

01/20/2011

State Sen. Leland Yee of San Francisco called on conservative radio personality Rush Limbaugh to apologize to the Chinese community today for mocking Chinese President Hu Jintao's speech.

Limbaugh was complaining today on his show about a Fox News broadcast that omitted translation of Hu's words, and spent 18 seconds speaking gibberish Chinese.

"Normally they translate every couple of words, but Hu Jintao was just going chin chong, chin chong cha..." he said before continuing to mimic the language.

Yee chairs the state Senate Select Committee on Asian Pacific Islander Affairs and said Limbaugh owes the Chinese community an apology for his "pointless and ugly offense."

"His classless act is an insult to over 3,000 years of cultural history, and is a slap in the face to the millions of Chinese Americans who have struggled in this country and to a people who constitute one-quarter of the world's population," Yee said in a statement.

"His comments... are sadly indicative of the bigotry that has often plagued his commentary and lined his pockets."

Born in Red China, graduate of Berkeley. If this guy isn’t a Manchurian candidate-type plant I will eat my hat, and if his first loyalty is to this country, I will eat his hat, too.

Typical of the left piling on a supposed social hurt "State Sen. Yee: Limbaugh owes Chinese community an apology for mocking speech" This San Francisco Chinese-American is just doing his petty little bit for Pelosi. He should be working for the people not running to mama about someone who can't speak his language......Remember Hu when he visited President Bust? (LOL Bush & Condi Comedy Spoof)

Yee needs to get a sense of humor....everyone get a life!

While he's flapping his gums, has Yee seen fit to comment on this...

In return Rush should tell his audience they should respond in kind regarding any business or vacations in that Sen. Yee’s area.
I think advertisers make too much return on their money to pay attention to Democrat whores.

Yo, Lee - get back to me when you’ve decided to send Rush to a re-education camp.

They don’t have to be Manchurian candidates out there in the Bay Area, they’re pretty open about being Stalinists.

Leland Yee immigrated to San Francisco from Taishan,[2] Guangdong, China when he was three years old

This offensive maggot was not even born here and wants to call the shots
He is a Han supremacist same as the ChiCom leadership
I do give credit to his parents for giving him a very Anglo first name. They wanted to be part of America

This maggot would have kept quiet five years ago but now with China on the rise he feels free to be a Chinese supremacist just like that pianist Lang Lang in the White House
Many freepers are acquainted at how racist the Chinese can be.

I respect Chinese and Japanese cultures but if you are gunning for America then I am against you

In 1992, Yee was accused of the petty misdemeanor crime of shoplifting a small bottle of sunscreen in Hawaii. In 1993, the case was closed without prejudice after Yee left the jurisdiction without informing law enforcement.

On September 4, 2007 it was revealed using WikiScanner that IP addresses registered to computers in the California Senate office had made changes to its Wikipedia entry favoring Leland Yee.

Senator Yee introduced SB 1451, a bill that ensures California students do not learn from a modified curriculum designed by Texas-based textbook publishers.

In April 2010, Yee filed a public records request to discover if any state funds were used by California State Stanislaus Foundation to hire and pay former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin $75,000 to speak at the school’s 50th anniversary celebration on June 25. The foundation refused to divulge the any information about fees paid to Palin.

Yee said, “It’s rather disappointing that Sarah Palin is asking for nearly $100,000 to speak at this anniversary event when we’re looking at state increases in student fees, cancellations of classes and the fact that this money could be going to scholarships… She could do wonders for all of us … by taking this money and donating it back to the foundation.”

A bill introduced Wednesday in the Legislature seeks compensation equity for part-time community college teachers statewide who have the same credentials and work experience as their full-time counterparts.

The legislation by state Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco, would require college districts to create a salary and service-credit, or pension, schedule for part-time faculty that mirrors the one for full-time instructors.
