The food riots have started and these nit wits want to convert food to fuel at the cost of increased net carbon?

I used to like Newt, but not now. He will not get my vote in any primary.

Newt should drink the ethanol, and go play in a corn field. Ethanol is another idiotic mistake of the mentally deficient intellectuals.

Ethanol is useless.

We should be using our proven 100 year reserve of natural gas. Estimated reserves are between 200 and 300 years.

Cars need to be made for CNG and a small reserve of gasoline. Many government agencies already have fleets that use CNG. Utility companies do likewise. Many buses now use CNG. I know of only one commercial vehicle available to the general population - a Honda Civic that gets the equivalent of 40 MPG. And you can refuel at your home.

There is no reason Ford, GM and Chrysler can't offer similar products.

Gingrich is either a little late or he knows that the ethanol crowd is going the food route to recoup their investments and make a lot of money.

I like Newt ..... out of power.

Have him write and promote his books. Have him push his policy ideas. Have him start his American Solutions organizations. All good.

But never, ever allow Newt anywhere near the levers of power. He's worthless, actually less than worthless.

I remember when he was Speaker and told us that the Federal Budget wouldn't go down for 50 years. Thanks for reducing the size and scope of government, Newt. Then we have Newt's complete lack of strategic vision and tactical leadership. I remember the government shutdown. Complete Newt FAIL.

1. He allowed Clinton to place the blame on him. 2. He marched his troops up the him to get a budget, then marched them down again. 3. This he did 2 more times, each time he had fewer soldiers. 4. Finally, Newt was beaten and caved.

And I'll never forget that as Speaker, Newt single-handedly inserted an ethanol subsidy of $500 million to be paid by us, the people. All for the purpose of his quixotic, no chance Presidential campaign to buy a few thousand caucus votes in Iowa. Imagine this. Put a $500 million dollar cost on consumers to buy a few votes in Iowa.

Why isn't this corruption?

No Newts!!! No Mitts!!! No RINOs!!!

Ethanol stinks and consumes petro-inputs. Total idiocy. Far better to drill here and drill now and dig up more coal to make more electricity for some usage of private electric cars for short city hops

We also have abundant natural gas to move some fleets and trucks over to CNG. Compressed natural gas. Forklifts use CNG. It can be used in many places

Solar and wind turbines. Make them here with mild subsidies and incentives but not the foolish giveaways we have seen

Isn’t everyone just sick of these miscreants yet?

All of them just suck and they continue to try to screw us every single day...

Does this communist idiot understand what the word “CHOICE” means? Maybe he thinks that its only proper application is with abortion or adultery, and that the word doesn’t apply to consumers. At any rate, he’s reached his expire by date, and I hope that the rest of the GOP contenders emphasize this fact to him during the primary.

We should never take Newt Gringrich seriously again. Only a total clown or a desperate politician can embrace ethanol as a motor fuel. Newt has a tinge of both.
