MSNBC's Matthews On Handling Of Egypt: "I Feel Ashamed As An American" (video)

CHRIS MATTHEWS: "What was our plan for transition for our friend? Did we ever talk to him about it, encourage him? That's my view; character and planning. I feel shame about this. I feel ashamed as an American, the way we're doing this. I know he has the change. I know we're for democracy, but the way we've handled it is not the way a friend handles the matter. We're not handling it the way Americans should handle matters like this. I don't feel right about it. And Barack Obama, as much I support him in many ways, there is a transactional quality to the guy that is chilling. I believe in relationships. I think we all do. Relationship politics is what we were brought up with in this country. You treat your friends a certain way. You're loyal to them. And When they're wrong, you try to be with them, you try to stick with them."

Wow, this out of Chrissy Tingles?

That says a lot.

It was horrendous to have Obama out there a week ago saying Mubarak needed to be GONE "now" --- and emphasizing that "now means yesterday."

That is not how to handle someone who has been a good friend of our country and a force for peace in the Middle East for decades.

I am not suggesting that we had to be delusional and think Mubarak could stay if that was, based on facts on the ground, not true. However, those facts can be worked in private, not by some dumb POTUS standing up, wagging his finger (as Obama did) and pontificating about how Mubarak had to be gone "now and that means yesterday."

Obama to Mubarak: Now Means Yeterday.

I agree with Chris on this one.

I would say it’s not a “transactional” quality, it’s that Obama is, or is very close to being, a psychopath. No authentic empathy; no emotional grasp of social dynamics; no inner voice that speaks humanity to him.

We can toss this off as being “clueless,” but the problem, methinks, is much deeper than that.

Hilarious! Leftist media figures are finally discovering that Barry Soetoro is no more than an unqualified amateur whose best effort is an embarrassment to them and the nation.

Bears repeating. Except I, for one, don't really find it hilarious.

I translated it as “psychopath.” Not far between the two, sociopath and psychopath.

I’m ashamed he’s an American, too.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

I have never felt ashamed as an American. Not even with Carter or Clinton as president.

AMEN!

I am proud to be an American and proud of America. It's some of these POTUSes I take exception to.

Shall we count how many people Obama has thrown under the bus on his climb to the White Hut? How is that loyalty Crissy? Open your eyes and you too shall see...

I feel ashamed as an American, the way we're doing this.

--snip--

And Barack Obama, as much I support him in many ways, there is a transactional quality to the guy that is chilling.

A thrill went up his leg. Maybe it just went down the other. I think we might see this again in 2012.

It means that 0bama wants a certain specific result, regardless of the consequences.

Matthews is absolutely correct on this point. His comment was ‘inspirational’.

It means Obama is a cold fish, while Tip O’Neil trained Matthews to be a simpering, whiny bucket of emotion to cover up the liberal’s lack of intelligence and common sense.

Definition: The over manifestations of social intercourse are called “transactions.”

“Transaction” seems to be psycho-speak that’s usually used for an implicit communication between people (like body language or sarcasm). Transactional analysis been used by psychiatrists like Eric Berne when observing people play games with one another in Group Therapy sessions.

In the political world when the teleprompter tells Obama to say “change we can believe in”, Chrissy gets a “thrill up his leg” as he witnesses of the dawning of a new era. Here, Obama’s visionary posturing transacts a secure feeling to Chrissy, and Chrissy’s squeals of delight complete the transaction by reassuring the benevolent authority figure that his dependents are secure in his bosom.

But then there are dangerous moments the stern Obama may may appear. Mubarak is informed that Obama is watching closey. Obama personally warns the farmers not to overcharge for their crops and decrees a “green” Egyptian economy must be undertaken. Chrissy is scared. The thrill up his leg is replaced by a “chill” that shrinks his scrotal sack and causes him to shriek in a soprano voice “there is a transactional quality to the guy that is chilling”. Chrissy’s predicament is not lost upon Barry, who then decides to perform a series of lectures in Cairo Polytech on Medieval Arab Medicine.

Chris Matthews, horse's ass extraordinaire, is on the air -- that's not a reason for Americans to be ashamed, merely one of many reasons to shut off broadcast TV of all kinds, either direct or streaming or cable or dish. Thanks i88schwartz.
