~Favorite Drink Song's~

The Rolling Stones-You can't always get what you want

I saw her today at a reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she would meet her connection
At her feet was her footloose man

No, you can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
And if you try sometime you find

You get what you need

I saw her today at the reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she was gonna meet her connection
At her feet was her footloose man

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want

But if you try sometimes you might find
You get what you need

Oh yeah, hey hey hey, oh...

And I went down to the demonstration
To get my fair share of abuse
Singing, "We're gonna vent our frustration
If we don't we're gonna blow a 50-amp fuse"
Sing it to me now...

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you just might find
You get what you need
Oh baby, yeah, yeah!

I went down to the Chelsea drugstore
To get your prescription filled

I was standing in line with Mr. Jimmy
And man, did he look pretty ill
We decided that we would have a soda
My favorite flavor, cherry red
I sung my song to Mr. Jimmy
Yeah, and he said one word to me, and that was "dead"
I said to him

You can't always get what you want, no!

You can't always get what you want (tell ya baby)
You can't always get what you want (no)
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You get what you need
Oh yes! Woo!

You get what you need--yeah, oh baby!
Oh yeah!

I saw her today at the reception

In her glass was a bleeding man
She was practiced at the art of deception
Well I could tell by her blood-stained hands

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find

You get what you need

You can't always get what you want (no, no baby)
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find
You get what you need, ah yes...

Werewolves Of London

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
walkin through the streets of Soho in the rain.
He was lookin for the place called Lee Ho Fooks, gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein.

Chorus:
Aaahoo, werewolves of London
Aaahoo(2x)

Ya hear him howlin around your kitchen door, ya better not let him in.
Little old lady got mutilated late last night, werewolves of London again.

Chorus 2x

He's the hairy, hairy gent, who ran amok in Kent.
Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair.
You better stay away from him, he'll rip your lungs out Jim.

Huh, I'd like to meet his tailor.

Chorus 2x

Well, I saw Lon Chaney walkin with the queen, doing the werewolves of London.
I saw Lon Chaney Jr. walkin with the queen, doin the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinkin a pina colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect.

ahhhooooo, werewolves of London
Draw blood

Cigareets and Whuskey and Wild, Wild Women.

I once saw the Muppets do that one in the style of a Salvation Army band. Hilarious. It's on YouTube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVw96wzmZC8

No contest here: “At Nippers”

Website: http://www.nippersbar.com/index.html

Nippers is basically an entire island only a few hundred yards across in the Abacos in the Caribbean. You can only get there by boat. I went down there on a 40 foot catamaran with 7 other people, and as the sun was setting, there were boats from all points of the compass converging on this place.

As we walked up, there were people heading the other way leaving, in various states of intoxication, and I recall one pretty, grinning girl saying to us in a high, lilting voice “You’ll be sooorrrryyyyyyyy...”

My last semi-sober memory was all of us sitting in the sand on the beach in front of the place singing the theme song to “Gilligan’s Island”. I became so skunked I pitched forward, head first into the sand trying to stand up and jammed my neck. Causes problems until this day...

It was the most...er...well, I can only describe what took place there as “bacchanalia”.

It wasn’t until we had left, when I heard a song composed by a singer “The Barefoot Guy” that I knew it was COMPLETELY on target, and encapsulated the entire experience. I could not have been, and obviously wasn’t, the first.

The name of the song is: “At Nippers”

“AT NIPPERS”

I recall tequila in Mexico
Potato Moonshine from Idaho
Octoberfest out in Germany
But I can’t remember two weeks last September
When I was on Guana Key

I was at Nippers
They say I was passed out cold
At Nippers
I was dancin’ naked, or so I was told
At Nippers
Round the corner by the old fig tree
I was intoxicated
Inebriated
Three notches past tipseeeee

I recall the best wine from Gay Paree
Straight white rum from Miami
Bourbon Whiskey from old skid row
But I can’t remember
Two weeks last September
When I was in Abaco

I was at Nippers
I hear there’s a real grand view
At Nippers
Well, if it’s there, I ain’t got a clue
At Nippers
Round the corner by the old fig tree
I was intoxicated
Inebriated
Three notches past tipseeeee

I’ve consumed hot sake in Tokyo
And chilly vodka on old Moscow
When it comes to drinkin’ I’m versatile
Hey, but I can’t remember
Two weeks last September
On that Bahamian Isle

I was at Nippers
I hear the food is great
At Nippers
Oh, I lost my partial plate
At Nippers
Round the corner by the old fig tree
I was intoxicated
Inebriated
Three notches past tipseeeee

At Nippers
Down in Abaco
At Nippers
Hey, my friends, that’s where I’m layin’ low
At Nippers,
Round the corner by the old fig tree
I was intoxicated
Inebriated
Three notches past tipseeeee

At Nippers
Down in Abaco
That’s where I’m layin’ low
At Nippers,
Round the corner by the old fig tree
I was intoxicated
Inebriated
Three notches past tipseeeee

John Barleycorn
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q4LvXZNOuI&feature=related

There were three men came out of the west, their fortunes for to try
And these three men made a solemn vow
John Barleycorn must die
They’ve ploughed, they’ve sown, they’ve harrowed him in
Threw clods upon his head
And these three men made a solemn vow
John Barleycorn was dead
They’ve let him lie for a very long time, ‘til the rains from heaven did fall
And little Sir John sprung up his head and so amazed them all
They’ve let him stand ‘til Midsummer’s Day ‘til he looked both pale and wan
And little Sir John’s grown a long long beard and so become a man
They’ve hired men with their scythes so sharp to cut him off at the knee
They’ve rolled him and tied him by the waist serving him most barbarously
They’ve hired men with their sharp pitchforks who’ve pricked him to the heart
And the loader he has served him worse than that
For he’s bound him to the cart
They’ve wheeled him around and around a field ‘til they came unto a barn

And there they made a solemn oath on poor John Barleycorn
They’ve hired men with their crabtree sticks to cut him skin from bone
And the miller he has served him worse than that
For he’s ground him between two stones

And little Sir John and the nut brown bowl and his brandy in the glass
And little Sir John and the nut brown bowl proved the strongest man at last
The huntsman he can’t hunt the fox nor so loudly to blow his horn
And the tinker he can’t mend kettle or pots without a little barleycorn

I believe you are correct. Found this:

Rum and Coca-Cola” is the title of a popular calypso. Originally composed by Lord Invader and Lionel Belasco, it was copyrighted in the United States by entertainer Morey Amsterdam and became a huge hit in 1945 for the Andrews Sisters, spending ten weeks at the top of Billboard's U.S. Pop Singles chart.

Brown Eyed Women...Grateful Dead Words by Robert Hunter; music by Jerry Garcia

Gone are the days when the ox fall down he'd take up the yoke and plow the fields around Gone are the days when the ladies said "please, gently Jack Jones won't you come to me?"

Brown eyed women and red grenadine the bottle was dusty but the liquor was clean Sound of the thunder with the rain pouring down and it looks like the old man's getting on

In 1920 when he stepped to the bar he drank to the dregs of the whiskey jar In 1930 when the Wall caved in he paid his way selling red eye gin

Brown eyed women and red grenadine the bottle was dusty but the liquor was clean Sound of the thunder with the rain pouring down and it looks like the old man's getting on

Delilah Jones was the mother of twins two times over and the rest was sins Raised eight boys, only I turned bad Didn't get the lickings that the other ones had

Tumble down shack in Bigfoot County Snowed so hard that the roof caved in Delilah Jones went to meet her God and the old man never was the same again

Brown eyed women and red grenadine the bottle was dusty but the liquor was clean Sound of the thunder with the rain pouring down and it looks like the old man's getting on

Daddy made whiskey and he made it well Cost two dollars and it burned like hell I cut hick'ry to fire the still Drink down a bottle and you're ready to kill

Brown eyed women and red grenadine the bottle was dusty but the liquor was clean Sound of the thunder with the rain pouring down and it looks like the old man's getting on
