On Friday February 11, the day Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square for a 60 MINUTES story when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.
In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering.
There will be no further comment from CBS News and Correspondent Logan and her family respectfully request privacy at this time.

Knew something was going on when she was not on air from here in US after returning to CONUS.
This rumor has been working for a few days, and was all but confirmed by the lack of comment or denials from anyone at Black Rock or West 57th.
Some may say Logan has a checkered past, but nothing deserves this!
When 3 CBS engineers were killed by a perp years ago, Rather went into a (well deserved) on-air outrage. This time, there will probably be nothing, because, Lord knows, we don’t want to upset the “Arab Street.” Source with many years in SWA says many Muslims will approve of this, because, it was an infidel getting what she deserved.
When will the rest of America wake up?
many reporters like to make the news about themselves...this does not seem to be the case and that could explain the delay in reporting it. Shocking even to the most diehard leftist newsie.
This is news that can be helpful in dismanteling the some in USA who still think Muslim is the TROP!!!

Give me a break. The reporters volunteer to go into harm’s way and do so for various reasons including money and fame. They take risks and understand the danger just like a stock car driver, athlete, etc. I don’t consider them to be on the same level as a policeman, soldier, fireman, etc. I saw plenty of them in Vietnam who had a political agenda and could care less about reporting the truth. Many of them lost their lives. I have a hard time feeling sorry for them.
Well I’m sure they were evil Mubarak supporters with American backing.

I was out alone the other night going to a class. I was alone and pulled into a city parking garage. The ticket taker was a muslim something or other. He was very flirtatious, calling me “beautiful”, etc. It totally creeped me out. These guys are pervs. The more of them that keep coming over, the worse it’s going to get for American women. I hope this wakes a few of them up, but I don’t have high hopes.
Well, the USA “One Party Press” reports the protester mobs were peaceful, so probably they were thus “making love, not war”.
And working hard to increase the number of “by birth” Muslims in the world.

with great respect, don’t blame the reporter for the actions of these scumbag terrorist “freedom protestors” - this was an attack on an American, and we should respond clearly, quickly and violently on these scum (but wont of course).
I don't think she deserved worse than she got, but I'm sure most of those in the crowd thought so and would've continued to deliver exactly that, were it not for the group of women and presumably-pro-Mubarak soldiers.

100 percent correct. Thug behavior in England, Holland, and in the US is increasing also. Of course I understand the desire to be free, but when has any Egyptian ever been free enough to understand what it is? Our Revolution happened because a free people didn’t like sending their tax dollars overseas, they understood freedom. Check out the comments on YOUTUBE videos regarding the Egyptian uprisings. They are full of anti-Mubarak rants, and rants against Jews and Americans.
