On Friday February 11, the day Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square for a 60 MINUTES story when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.
In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering.
There will be no further comment from CBS News and Correspondent Logan and her family respectfully request privacy at this time.

Knew something was going on when she was not on air from here in US after returning to CONUS.
This rumor has been working for a few days, and was all but confirmed by the lack of comment or denials from anyone at Black Rock or West 57th.
Some may say Logan has a checkered past, but nothing deserves this!
When 3 CBS engineers were killed by a perp years ago, Rather went into a (well deserved) on-air outrage. This time, there will probably be nothing, because, Lord knows, we don’t want to upset the “Arab Street.” Source with many years in SWA says many Muslims will approve of this, because, it was an infidel getting what she deserved.

When CBS News refused to run the report on the nightly news because the footage was "a bit strong" (although the network did run the report on their internet site), Logan tried to win public support to reverse this decision. Logan said, "I would be very grateful if any of you have a chance to watch this story and pass the link on to as many people you know as possible. It should be seen. And people should know about this." Logan went on to use some of the Haifa Street material in a 60 Minutes report about life in Baghdad under the surge."
Logan has described how she begged a clerk at the Russian Embassy in London to give her an expedited visa to travel to Afghanistan days after the September 11, 2001, attacks. While in Afghanistan in November 2001, Logan, then working as a correspondent for the British morning program, GMTV, infiltrated the American- and British-backed Northern Alliance fighting against the Taliban. Then she interviewed the Northern Alliance's commander, General Babajan, at the Bagram Air Base.
Logan next spent much of the next four years reporting from the field, including battlefields, in Afghanistan, traveling often as an embedded journalist with the American Armed Forces.
Logan was promoted to the position of the Chief Foreign Correspondent for CBS News in February 2006.

They sat on this for days and there has been no on-air condemnations and no on-air outrage over this. They are dhimmi denial mode.
If they want to really appease the Muzzies they will have to fire Lara Logan and accuse her of instigating it by being a woman. or something.

The pair tried to bribe translator Mohammed Mohammadullah into delaying her departure and told him they planned to "have their way" with her.
Mohammadullah refused the offer and rushed Lara to safety. "He was a man who I trusted - literally - with my life," said Lara yesterday. "I will always be grateful. But I believe you have to take calculated risks. It was always a possibility that I would be raped in Afghanistan but you have to weigh up the probability of it. I was never foolhardy but I thought it all through and decided how I would cope if it did happen.
"I didn't take foolish risks and I am an experienced journalist who knows how to avoid dangerous situations."
CBS is wringing their hands because they don’t have video of the attack. Then again, maybe it never happened; a hoax, a publicity stunt for Lara’s career.
Some pretty sad comments on here. You can talk about the wisdom of sending an attractive young woman into a crowd like this. But don’t let your disgust for the kind of animals that did this outweigh your empathy for this young lady. Putting herself in a risky situation made her more vulnerable to an attack NOT more deserving of an attack (or less deserving of our sympathy after the fact).
Their legal team had them hold off while they spent the weekend reviewing the possible magnitude of the workman's comp claim and other assorted lawsuits they may be facing.
I remember reading about the upper middle class white liberals who went to Haiti, and were raped on roof tops and in shanty towns.
So many US liberal women have bought into the Great Lie:

The poor woman. I hope she is OK, and heals up, both mentally and physically.

Do you have the same empathy for Anderson Cooper? Although Logan had plenty of experience in wartime reporting in the Islamic world, she made a foolish mistake believing that she could be among a crowd of young Muslim men dressed like a Westerner and not covering her hair and most of her body. It was dumb and she is lucky it was not worse.
Here we see pure democracy in action. Democracy is nothing but organized collectivist mob rule with no constraints UNLESS it acknowledges, guarantees, and protects individual rights unalienable endowed by the Creator.
