'No one told her to go there': Now FEMALE pundit lays into Egypt sex attack victim Lara Logan
Daily Mail UK ^ | February 16, 2011

A female political pundit has been heavily criticised for suggesting Lara Logan should have seen her sex attack coming - and for calling the Egyptians who were protesting for democracy 'animals'.

Debbie Schlussel posted a picture of Miss Logan on her blog, under the headline: 'Islam Fan Lara Logan Gets a Taste of Islam', before adding 'How fitting that Lara Logan was “liberated” by Muslims in Liberation Square while she was gushing over the other part of the “liberation".'

It comes as an American academic, Nir Rosen, yesterday resigned from his post at New York University after calling Miss Logan a 'warmonger' who was 'trying to outdo' rival news correspondent Anderson Cooper.

CBS correspondent Miss Logan endured a 'brutal and sustained' sexual assault and beating while covering the resignation of President Mubarak in Egypt.

The mother-of-one had been surrounded by an angry mob of 200 people before the assault which is thought to have lasted up to half an hour. She had to be saved by a group of women and 20 Egyptian soldiers and was later taken to hospital.

Yesterday Schlussel, who is Jewish, wrote: 'Lara Logan was among the chief cheerleaders of this 'revolution' by animals.

'Now she knows what Islamic revolution is really all about.

'So sad, too bad, Lara.

It would be pretty stupid to be a reporter then complain that you don’t want to be in any dangerous situation. In fact, if she did, she would be derided for “being a girl”.

She has a job she wants.

She was hurt in a dangerous situation. But I do not begrudge her being there doing her job.

There was a similar incident in Central Park a number of years ago.Girls were sprayed with water and grabbed and groped after a Hispanic Day parade.

Are people not allowed to do jobs that are dangerous?

She was doing her job.

It sure is nice to see there are at least SOME men here on FR whose knuckles aren’t dragging on the ground.

"She was not raped or they [CBS] would have said so."

I don't have that much trust in them.
They will do what they believe to be in their best interest at the time.

I walk into a biker bar wearing the colors of a different gang they are at war with.

Should I be surprised if I get hurt?

I caught a part of the View this morning where this incident was being discusses. Barbara Walters made a comment about it and was very, very careful in her statement not to use "raped" but alluded to the fact that "sexual assault" may have implied something else of lesser severity may have happened......With her influence, it's very possible she has some confidential sources who know the truth.

I saw one media report somewhere here on FR this morning, which even used the term "internal injuries". Now that could be used to describe vaginal penetration injuries without being specific about it, but it could also be used to describe deep tissue or muscle bruising of her breasts and derriere from wholesale grabbing. You just can't trust anything the media says.

Interesting that you bring up Rachel Corrie. It’s universally accepted that she deserved to get smashed by a Caterpillar. But what if she was raped? I’m guessing you and Dr. Scarpetta and others would have VEHEMENTLY denied that she would have deserved to be raped. So why the contradictions?

Rachel Corrie put herself in front of that bulldozer, knowing it could kill her, to make a political point. Lara Logan didn't exactly strip down and offer herself to her attackers. She was a reporter trying to do her job, and while admittedly a dangerous job, she wasn't going out there daring the crowd to assault her.

Interesting that you bring up Rachel Corrie.

Sexist and selective outrage, something we accuse the left of all the time.

It is indeed convenient that Lara was "on the job" and "only folloink orders" on who to demonize and who to glorify.

Logan did not report rape.
Rape was not confirmed, nor reported.
She reconnected with her crew.
She went to the hotel, not the hospital, fearing lack of security.
She caught the plane out the next morning.

“Sustained sexual assault” was likely not the phrase used by a rape victim.

In the Middle East, being an American is high risk. Being an American woman in the Middle East is higher risk. Being an American, woman, in the Middle East, in the middle of a revolution? What would you call that?

These youngsters actually LOBBY for these assignments! They then arrive with no training for the foreign culture they are entering. She might have been killed, and by her countenance and yes, her dress, she didn’t seem to have a clue of personal danger.

I may be mistaken but I didn’t see any other female reporter with even an open collar, did anybody else?

uncovered women are whores

Lots of whores in Egypt then from what I've seen.

Then you need to see more than CNN.

Here is a photo of Univ. of Cairo 1978. Any head-scarves there? How many women?

Here is photo of Univ. of Cairo 2005. Notice any difference?

Personally, I would define “stupid” as being a supposedly “smart” reporter, yet choosing to ignore the mountains of evidence as to the sexual deviancy of an incredibly large number of muslim males.

I think you’re actually seeing a lot less “she was asking for it” responses than “what does she expect from a bunch of muslims” which is more where I come down on all this. Was anyone shocked when they first read about it? Anyone surprised by their actions hasn’t looked at islam very closely.

I didn’t say there weren’t many more covered heads than x years ago just that there must be many whores there because there are still so many uncovered.
