Too bad the power and energy from these storms cannot be used to knock liberal thought out of the Universe, or at the least the Solar System.

Many people hate Nicholas Cage. And many people disliked his 2009 movie "Knowing".
I actually kind of like him, and I thought the movie wasn't all that bad (but could have been better). Anyway, a large solar flare is a factor in the plot. Just sayin',

The sun unleashed a powerful flare Thursday (Feb.24) that while not the strongest solar storm ever seen let loose a massive wave of magnetic plasma in a dazzling display. Damn it!
Another concern created by man made global warming.
That Algore guy sure has been a visionary when it comes to global death and mayhem caused by us humans.

Greenpeace is rushing to the North Pole to put the tinfoil hats on the Polar Bears before their iceburgs melt from the cosmic rays!
Meanwhile the Polar Bears are swimming to get to the floating docks at the base of each oil well for shelter!
Ah, wait a minute——

Interesting that they’ve been exaggerating solar flares recently. We’re not likely to see any unusual effect on earth from that.

My physics and astrophysics are several decades rusty: Doesn’t the damaging radiation from these things reach the earth at the same time as the light used to take the picture? And if that’s true, would we ever be able to know ahead of time about the one that fries civilization as we know it?
Can we know, somehow, that it’s “on it’s way,” or do we just wake up one morning and find we no longer have to see Obama’s face on our now-useless TVs?
