I say last night on the news the police conducted an investigation into an abandoned house. Found lots of drugs...but also found 5 starving goats. Goat are now safe with a foster family through the APL. I seriously thought of calling to find out how to acquire a few for milk.

If you’re all paying more than US$3.00/US gallon for milk, you’re going to the wrong store. I can get one gallon of milk for under US$3.00 by going to a Wal-Mart Supercenter or to a WinCo Foods supermarket.

The annoying thing is that half gallons are almost the same price as gallons, and I rarely drink a full gallon before it goes bad.

Buy a full gallon.

Pour half into a gallon freezer bag and freeze it.

“Here in Pennsylvania, we have a Milk Marketing Board which dictates the minimum price for milk- and right now its pegged at about $3.80/ gallon- can’t buy it legally for less in the commonwealth.”

You have a Milk “Soviet”?

We’ve had it since I was a kid, for many years.

Couldn’t get S & H green stamps on milk purchases in Pennsylvania when retailers used to give them as that would be a violation.

We eat a lot of eggs. I am wondering if it might be cost-efficient to have a few laying hens around.

Yes, it should be cost efficient, but will take daily care, and feeding. When the layers get too old, you eat them. A double whammy for your buck.

You need to go on welfare, then you can afford beef.

Those are the only people I see buying it.

The Navy does that all the time. In fact that was the only milk we got aboard ship, melted frozen milk

The last time I drank milk I was in 1951, it came directly from the cow to the pail to the milk house to the table.

Never liked it, switched to wine and never looked back.

Most of the fruits & veggies around here do not come from Mexico. They come from further into South America. During the winter months that is. In warmer months, it comes from all over.
