GOP's shenanigans in Wisconsin ensure the fight will only escalate
Washington Post ^ | 3/10/11 | Greg Sargent

Here's what Wisconsin Republicans accomplished tonight: In a situation where they had repeated opportunities to resolve this standoff and plausibly declare victory for themselves, they have now ensured that this battle is only going to escalate. This evening, Wisconsin Repubicans took the drastic step of breaking up the budget repair bill and passing only a measure rolling back the collective bargaining rights of public employees. A committee removed some parts of the bill, allowing Republicans to pass it by a simple majority, without missing Dems, and it's expected to pass the Assembly tomorrow.

This is an absolutely delicious paragraph of liberal angst, whining, and impotent frustration. Yet, as my namesake would say ...

"Don't try to make friends with me".

I guess the point of the article was the GOP cannot do things like passing bills without allowing the other side to see them, deeming bills to pass, and then after the votes are cast, the head ass saying, I won.

Wisconsin can only do shenanigans on a minor scale...
The US Congress has already established the technique on a monumental scale.

Thank you, Harry Reid.
Thank you, Nancy Pelosi.

Thank you Obamabots, all.

For showing everyone the technique of unconstitutionally screwing the country with impunity.
Wisconsin is the minor leagues, but perhaps more important.

Thank you.
Thank you.

And thank you, Republicans, for finally figuring out that "staying above it all" is the certain road to defeat and extinction.

We still need fewer RINOS and more street fighters.

It's a political jungle out there, not of our making. But win we must by adopting the coin they have validated.

Hear them scream..... !
Reap what you've sown, idiots!

If the unions have to cover their health care and pension costs instead of sticking them to WI taxpayers, that means less money to fund the Democrats’ warchest. So yes, that will have an effect in the long run with keeping the Democrats competitive in WI - because the unions have to look after their members first instead of funding Democrats who couldn’t even save their taxpayer-funded trip!

I have read your latest propaganda piece and heartily approve. Continue to keep the workers and the masses agitated. Truth is not our objective. The total domination of America is.

I remain in solidarity with you in our great cause.

The left wants violence & will not quit until they get it. I suspect they’re probably disappointed it’s taken this long........

The union members are too stupid to realize that they are badly outnumberd.

All of Soros' money will not change that.

All we need are wooden stakes to make sure they stay down.

I haven’t read the bill that passed, but will teachers union dues be voluntary and not mandatory? That should take a lot of wind out of the union sails.

The GOP needs to understand, that like it or not, war has been declared, and they need to fight.

...they had repeated opportunities to resolve this standoff and plausibly declare victory for themselves

The DNC Media is used to Republicans caving in and declaring victory, a technique that the old guard raised to an art form. This new approach of actually fighting to win is most upsetting.

Reads like a threat to me - guarantee you the leftists are already shifting gears and hunting for judges who will issue rulings to try and nullify the legislation.

"Please explain to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit that you have created."

Better the rights of 300,000 goons and wannabe killers than the rights of the other 5,300,000 in the State?

Your math is as bad as your persuasion skills.

Bring it on!
And good luck with that.

Obama is talking about bullying today at the White House. His union buddies are showing us what real bullies do. If a Tea Partier puts one finger on a Liberal, the lamestream media calls it “violence”. Hypocrites, all of them. Especially Obama.

I’d like to be a fly on the wall today when Trumpka has his daily visit at the White House.

RE :”There's no quibbling with the fact that if it does stand, Walker and Republicans will have gotten their way in the short term fight. But let's recall an important fact: Republicans control the governorship and state legislature. The fact that they were forced to resort to this trick is itself a concession that they had lost the battle as they themselves had previously defined it. And in so doing, they were forced to pull a maneuver that will only lend even more energy to the drive to recall them.

Wow, this guy is great one for Republicans to go to for political advice.

Looking at his archives I dont see him saying something similar when Obama-care was rammed through with budget reconciliation.

the democrats have caused this entire mess by fleebagging it out of the state.

This debate was already won at the ballot box - November 2010. We kicked the democrats’ asses out of power - in the Governor’s office, in the Assembly, in the Senate, and out of 2 US House Rep seats and a US senate seat.

All the dems convincing themselves this will be solved by the ballot box, you are late to the game. It ALREADY WAS dealt with at the ballot box. The solution IS ALREADY BEING IMPLEMENTED. You are opposing what happened at the ballot box and you are opposing the solution most Wisconsinites want.
