The article seems confused.

Let's try another source for a more larger excerpt:

The moment with the most laughs?

When Mr. Purie asked why the Republican ticket lost the 2008 elections.

“Cos of the media,” she said, “No, just kidding, no. Candidate Obama he had a strong campaign, he was the agent of change, and though he was inexperienced and relatively unknown in the U.S., people still desired that change.”

“But you could have been that change too, your ticket?” said Mr. Purie.

“I wasn’t the top of the ticket, remember?,” said Ms. Palin. “I’m not saying I should’ve been, I’m just saying.”

Everybody do the Palin shuffle! :)

Yes, confused and inaccurate.
The interviewer talked about her being an ‘agent of change’ like Obama. Then asked her why she didn’t beat him if ‘change’ is what America had wanted. That is when she said she wasn’t at the top of the ticket.

That is exactly right, imfrmdixie.
Kinda like the misrepresentation of her remark about a woman being President.

Look at the context of what she said....it was simply a statement that the policies of the Republican campaign in 2008 were determined by Senator McCain and as the 2nd on the ticket, she could not “call the shots” on the change needed. Believe me, she would have traveled to Michigan if allowed...she would have called out Dear Leader’s association with his “radical pals” in much more detail. It might not have been enough, but never loose sight...she is a fighter and as said on another thread she comes equipped with more fortitude than 40+ Senators and 200+ Representatives...I pray she is successful!

I am certain that she was saying that she would have pulled the bark off the tree, so to speak, if SHE were making the decisions in the campaign. She has said that in the past, and I find it encouraging for 2012. Bob

News break for SP : “It’s not 2008 it’s 2011”.

What if she were at the top in 2008?? Looks like she’s free to try to get to the top of ticket for 2012 if she has the nerve. This other stuff is all endless bla-bla-bla.

[ In working households, I see it over and over...women cancelling hubby’s vote, whole familes of gimmees running to the polls. ]

Gimmies = Entitlement people, Union Members, Welfare roles.

Ghosts = Crazy people

Dims = The idiots or people who don’t know any better, ie. The Democrats.

Things are looking like this episode of Star Trek Deep Space Nine.

Funny that in this episode a charcter mentions that “Europe is a Mess”.

Yes, I am a big nerd.

I watched that speech. Palin suggested no such thing. She basically said it was McCain’s campaign, not hers, in response to a question about media bias.

I'm referring to non-political people who never heard of FreeRepublic who 8 months from now start hearing about a Sarah Palin

I've got news for you, most Sarah Palin supporters have never heard of FreeRepublic. They don't care. This site serves a wonderful purpose for many of us but Sarah Palin has a much larger presence.
