Kristol: Palin probably won't, shouldn't be nominee
Politico ^ | March 230, 2011 | Ben Smith

Posted on 03/23/2011 9:47:13 AM PDT by EveningStar

Weekly Standard Editor Bill Kristol was among Sarah Palin's earliest Washington admirers, and helped bring her to the national stage, but he said this week that while he still admires her, he questions her choices and doesn't think she should be the Republican nominee for president.

And, PDS barf.

Billy Kristol really should go back to doing comedy and lame movies and hosting awards programs.

Nina Easton, author of Gang of Five wrote about and praised Kristol. Kind of made up my mind about Kristol at that point. I don’t care what he has to say.

There is another reason to oppose Sarah e.g. her role in goading Obama into the Libya quagmire. This makes her damaged goods more than anything. Never forget! The GOP should only nominate a candidate who opposed intervention in that cesspool.

If she “probably won’t” be the nominee then why the continuous preoccupation with her? If she is unelectable, why all the concern about her running? I’m not understanding any of this...

"i think she's unlikely to be the Republican nominee, and to be honest I think she probably shouldn't be the Republican nominee for president," he said, adding that he thinks she's "unlikely" to run.

A bit late. She's been running since November 2008.

“Do you seriously think she can win?”

Hell yes, in a landslide. And that goes double if the Stupid Party gets off their stupid butts and deploys fearless, aggressive poll watchers. People who will tackle and handcuff demonrat criminals and hold them for the police.

Palin's negatives are way too high. She would likely lose to Barry. We can't afford to nominate another weak candidate and let that train wreck of a president get another term.

If she wanted to be taken seriously she needed to finish her term and then win Murkowski's Senate seat.

“Kristol is correct, of course.”

Kristol is an idiot.

You’ve been here since 1998? I doubt it.

The liberals FEAR SARAH. She is not going to be politically correct or be intimidated by them.

She is the best person out there and she has great values, is not afraid to stand up for her values and is not corrupted by Washington.

This can not be said about any other candidate.

Sarah has my vote.

The negativity is lies. Twisted innuendos etc.

I loathe Kristol but I think he’s right here. I think Palin is great but the smear campaign from the media and “journolist” types is complete. The spoon-fed public largely believes she is an idiot. No amount of facts will change this perception now.

She didn’t help her case during the ‘08 campaign by going into hostile territory (Kouric, Gibson) and then freezing up when she got there.

I think she’s brilliant but she doesn’t think on her feet well enough to deal with all the setups she’ll be subjected to as a candidate.

"Politico is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Washington Post."

I'm not sure where you heard that, but it's entirely untrue. Politico is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Arbitron Communications, and WaPo (of course) is owned entirely by the Washington Post Company.

Really, REALLY? Heck, you should just follow your heart and feeeelings.

I want you to be proud of your vote..... I know I’ll be when I cast my vote for Palin.

“One example, she quit the governorship. Like it or not. She chose to pursue the golden ring. Abandoned the people who voted for her. You don’t think that will be used against her?”

You’ve been here since 1998? I doubt it.

For those of you who haven’t noticed, someone has figured out how to hack FR, and a number of user names with fraudulent 1998 dates have appeared: all pimping for things that harm conservatism.
