Trump sends investigators to Hawaii to look into Obama
CNN ^

Posted on 04/07/2011 7:20:45 AM PDT by quesney

Washington (CNN) – Self-proclaimed birther Donald Trump is now so doubtful of President Obama's birthplace that he's sent a team of his own investigators to Hawaii in hopes of getting to the bottom of the issue.

That's according to Trump himself, who, in an interview with NBC, warned his investigators just might uncover "one of the greatest cons in the history of politics and beyond."

"I have people that have been studying it and they cannot believe what they're finding," Trump said an interview that aired Thursday Morning.

Asked if he has assigned people specifically to search in Hawaii, Trump said, "Absolutely."

The business mogul, who in a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll is tied for second place among potential presidential candidates, also suggested the president is involved in an ongoing cover-up over the matter.

"He spent $2 million in legal fees trying on to get away from this issue, and if it weren't an issue, why wouldn't he just solve it?" he said. "I wish he would because if he doesn't, it's one of the greatest scams in the history of politics and in the history, period. You are not allowed to be a president if you're not born in this country. Right now, I have real doubts."

Ever notice that it seems Barack never had a girlfriend until he met Michelle?

There was a photo of him sitting very close to some thick mustache dude when he was in college? Does that count?

LOTS of people have culpability.

You speak with much wisdom my friend. Trump is no fool and he either has the "goods" on zero or like the rest of us looks at the facts and comes to the conclusion that this guy is lying big time. The interesting part is that there are a lot of "Rats" who are complicit in this fraud that are not sleeping well these days. I have never been a big fan of Trump but I absolutely love what he is doing...Go Get'm Donald...

I'm so disgusted with our conservative voices for having ignored this issue as if they've been threatened with death or something.

Not death. Something far worse --loss of income.

No president needs this sort of negative publicity. Especially when he's got an uphill climb to re-election, and has just officially begun his re-election campaign.

It's one thing for the birther cottage industry to be making noise about his eligibility. He's successfully been able to ignore that.

But ignoring someone with the stature of Donald Trump, who is:
already a household name,
a billionaire with nearly bottomless resources to investigate him,
can get face time on television anytime he wants it,
has already thrown down the gauntlet by showing his own bc and daring him to do the same,
and who will likely oppose him for the office -

is not possible.

What would any normal person do under such circumstances? I think they'd quickly put an end to all of the speculation by producing their long form bc and making a huge show of complete transparency with the American public. To do anything else, is a tacit admission of guilt, which most people will deduce.

Frankly, Obama should have ended this two years ago. It was unthinkable that a newly elected US president would fail to be completely open about something so basic with the American people, but he did.

The fact that he has never honestly addressed this issue tells me that he can't. He doesn't have the documentation to prove anything to anyone. He has put himself in a corner that he cannot extricate himself from. Trump clearly sees this, and is going to force him to admit he's a fraud, or step down.

What about the state legislators?

It seems they go right up to the wire on eligibility requirements, then bail out.

Probably because at that point their lives and families get threatened by union thugs. And they don't have the financial resources to hire bodyguard protection.

It sounds to me like Trump is really serious about seeking the presidency.

The clearest path for him is to make it politically impossible for the current occupant to run again.

I think Trump has found something, something that Obama’s enablers and cheerleaders will not be able to dismiss, something that Obama will have to address directly. And it's going to be damaging, so damaging that 0 may decide not to seek reelection.

All I can say is: Godspeed, Mr. Trump.

The corruption is SO broad and deep that “O” could not act independently against the ‘ineligibility’ claim if he wanted.

I believe that American voters, across the board, have been betrayed! The perpetrators of this fraud have been laughing in their sleeves at us for a very long time!!

It's interesting, NBC and MSNBC have treated Trump somewhat fairly on this, giving him air time and letting him talk with out interruption.

Yep, that would be my guess as well. In fact, if I had to guess, I would speculate that the investigators have already completed their investigation.

My wife and I have wondered for 2 years why he doesn’t just produce the d**m thing and put this to rest. Then we found an old copy of my BC from 1951 Indiana. It had one little thing on it that might be an embarrassment to a presidential candidate, “legitimate”. Along with all the other stuff there was a line for legitimacy, which of course I can proudly say I was. Would that have been enough to keep him from being elected? I don’t know, but it could have been embarrassing. His father was married to a woman in Kenya when he married his mother which makes the marriage null and void in this country. Just a thought.

I'm sure he's hiding far worse than that. Who owns him? A foreign entity.

“Then Trump really went out on a limb and told her the Kenyan Grandma said he was born in Kenya and that she was there. I’m not kidding, half the time she was speechless and the other half her mouth was literally hanging open and she was doing the “But Donald...” thing.”

If only Meredith was as smart and well informed as you, curiosity, she would have been able to assert, sans documentation, that the grandmother never said any such thing.

So who’s right? Donald Trump, and hundreds of Freepers who have reported the grandmother’s remarks—plus Meredith, who obviously didn’t deny the fact—or curiosity, who says it never happened???

Well then, I guess the "Natural Born Citizen" requirement is now moot, as everyone concentrates on "Birth in Hawaii?"

Could this be a "1-2" punch? Coming up next, "All right then, now let's take a look at Dad?"
