Bohner's points:
1. Bans Federal Funding of Washington DC Abortions
2. + $8.5 billion in budget cuts -- Democrats wanted 0 dollars. Bohner started at $32b, then TeaParty pushed that $62b. Bohner made + $8.5b better than halfway at $38.5b. Democrats claimed they met Republicans halfway after the $10 billion in cuts that already passed this year were approved. They settled late Friday night at three and a half times more.
3. Bohner blocked additional IRS funding
4. The deal mandates a host of studies and audits of Obama administration policies.
Losing points:
1. No votes on defunding NPR/PBS or EPA.
2. Democrats got $2 billion in DoD cuts -- $513 million for the rest of the year.

NPR and PBS partisan shills lose on the back end of this, turn up the heat on 'em wherever you are.

I’ve never met a republican with a backbone....except for Sarah Palin. She’s the only one that will stand up and take the hit.
Boehner is a coward.
To: Kakaze
Unfortunately you’re right kakaze.
Gold is up $16.60 in overseas trading since the announcement.
International financiers understand what this non-action means for the future of the dollar.

Ok I'll play armchair critic what would you have done? Shut the whole mess down over defunding NPR and the EPA? What do you think the MSM would have done to the Pubbies? You think we would not have Pelosi as Speaker again? I am curious, I see you and others bellyache about just about everything, give me your scenario over lets say the next two years how this would have played out if this was the hill you wanted to die on? I want to see the thought process, your logic. I bet it ends with “Well at least we would have had our principles....”. Which translates to mean , you are talking out of your rectum.

The 0 man (0bama) would have made it such that the military would have been unpaid during a shutdown. They should have called him on this. I understand it's playing chicken with the troops, but the GOP should have pounded on this issue.
Hussein wants to cut military pay while he's sending the troops on his Libyan adventure!
or something like
"Soetoro is putting free abortions ahead of the troops"
We all know that if the roles were reversed the libs along with the MSM would be shouting this from the rooftops.
While there at it, the GOP should be stressing Zer0's connections over the years with Kadaffy, the same way we heard about Bush going to Iraq for "Haliberton"

How is a DOD cut a loss? Across the board means across the board. I guess Arabs may have to solve some of their own damn problems.

The dimwits caved in abortion -- no Washington, DC federal funding for abortions... The
Planned Parenthood point was very narrow on abortion. Until the Tea Party/Conservative will start circulating some of the stories on
Planned Parenthood currently going around, then the MSM will spin things the libs/commies way...
There are at least ball breaking stories on Planned Parenthood:
1. IRS investigation of Bay Area Planned Parenthood clinics for criminal activities.
2. Washington Times story on GAO report that about $1 billion is missing of taxpayer money.
3. Mammograms? What Mammograms??? story that Planned Parenthood does not provide cancer screening...
4. Former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson story on the Planned Parenthood business model. Basically, put 98% of the funds (including Title X) into a slush fund for abortions.
Have you been promoting these stories on the Internet?

That's a bunch of BS! Boehner did not address the root cause of out of control federal spending. The root cause is due to Congress expanding their powers far beyond the enumerated powers granted to Congress in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution. Violating Article 1 Section 8 has created not only an Unconstitutional government but one so large it has become cost prohibitive.
The only way to reduce federal spending is by eliminating all federal agencies not in compliance with any of the enumerated powers in Article 1 Section 8. Doing so will dramatically reduce the size of government along with the associated costs. Any budget proposal that does not address this issue is nothing more than smoke and mirrors!

Technically, we are fighting 3 wars. The GOP was pushing certain projects. These projects might be pork. But these cuts will also hurt Dimwits...

You guys drive me nuts. Do you think you are going to get everything in one single piece of legislation? It’s a process, and this one on the early steps into a multi-step effort to bring sanity back to Washington.
Plain and simple, it was a win, one battle into a much larger war. Take the win, and let’s regroup for the next battle to cut even more wasteful government spending.

Bill Gates’ net worth is reported at $56 billion, so they didn’t even cut the equivalent of his net worth. And, compared to the stimulus or debt, not even close.

Yes. It would not “shutdown” but slowdown. I like Rand Pauls ideas. We have to defund and eliminate the Socialist Agencies and wean the country off of social security and welfare. So yes. I would not raise the debt limit. It is already too high.
To: YankeeReb
I agree. However, we don't have the support of enough media that most people will see it as the GOP as doing this.
The Dimwits will place the blame on the GOP...
You and I know where to go to get our information (if we post to Freerepublic, that is clear). But many other Americans will turn on the Boob Tube or read newspapers.
We do have the The Washington Times, Wall Street Journal, and Fox News as allies, but basically the rest of the media (MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, WaPo, NYT) will side with the 0 man...

To: pburgh01
On an ideological point, the GOP won that there would be no Federally Funded Washington DC abortions.
[I am agreeing with you...]

It is interesting listening to all of you "single-issue, principled conservatives".
You are all really much more invested in GOP failure than in seeing any progress, no matter how incremental.
You are why the RATS and Libs keep surviving, but you would rather have your collective dicks cut off with dignity than accept anything less than total victory.
How very French of you all!

I think we all knew the moment Boehner took the gavel that it was all over. The very fact that he took this dog and pony show to almost the very last moment just makes him look even weaker than we thought he was. He should have folded earlier and saved this nation alot of anger and worry. He is a major loser.

The democrats seem to do this without much trouble when they hold power.
To: Zakeet
We need to fix the voting system as number one or two in those steps. Pa. has a bill for photo ID, we need this legislation in all states this year.
it’s going to be a long hot summer.
