For Brewer to veto a Constitutional requirement which requires presidential candidates to be a result of a Natural Born birth and can be confirmed by a birth certificate, states very clearly to me that, QUOTE The FIX is in UNQUOTE.

Pressure from LEFTists in the MEDIA and George Soros' empire have decided, according to them, that Oblahblah will get his second term.

She’s been talking to Karl Rove.

"As a former Secretary of State (sic), I do not support designating one person as the gatekeeper to the ballot for a candidate, which could lead to artibrary or politically-motivated decisions," Brewer wrote in her veto message to House Speaker Kirk Adams

Now this doesn't make sense.

So what you're telling us Brewer that an obvious foreigner can get on the state presidential ballot? If not, then the SoS is a gate keeper. If the answer is yes that the Secretary of State would keep an obvious foreigner off the state ballots then you do have standards. What you're really saying governor that you are against any higher standards? Or there is not any state ballot standards and you want to keep it that way.

They did go too far if they were asking for circumcision and baptismal certificates in addition to birth certificates.

Who got to her? Yep. Same with courts, justice officials, party leadership, journalists, and managing editors of newspapers.

All the sudden a mortar round of kinetic energy on the subject just drops right off the scope. Again, and again, and again................

Maybe if you all READ the reasons, you'd think differently instead of being KNEEJERKS.

"As a former Secretary of State (sic), I do not support designating one person as the gatekeeper to the ballot for a candidate, which could lead to artibrary or politically-motivated decisions," Brewer wrote in her veto message to House Speaker Kirk Adams."

"Bills impacting our Second Amendment rights have to be crystal clear so that gun owners don't become lawbreakers by accident," she wrote in her veto message to Senate President Russell Pearce. The bill didn't define the "public right of way" where weapons could be carried on school campuses, and included K-12 schools where firearms are prohibited by federal law, Brewer wrote. While the bill was "widely advertised" as applying to colleges and universities, it expressly superceded a law that allows school districts to enforce prohibitions against weapons on school grounds, she wrote"

If the AZ Senate and House vote the same way, there was enough votes to override Brewer’s veto.

No, the bill asked for a birth certificate.

So I guess the question is, will they us the super majority to pass them?? I’m curious about her comments on the Gun rights one - if she is right, then Pearce should probably re-write it cuz it sounds like she’ll sign it.

Unlike the various kneejerk comments on this thread, I’m going to reserve judgement about Brewer’s veto until the dust settles and we know more about the devil that no doubt lies in the details. She may be playing chess when everyone else is assuming the game is checkers.

So her solution is what? No standards?

I’d be interested to hear if she had any statement issued with the vetoes. Last I heard, the Birth Certificate bill was watered down to require a “Certificate of Live Birth”, and not a long form birth certificate.

Me too. After I heard that I was not so concerned about the bill.

People need to CHILL OUT. Brewer did the right thing here. From what I'm hearing, they had watered these bills down and tampered with them until they were not only pointless, but they were dangerous. Banning from certain locations on campus, but allowing them on "public right of ways" while no definition of a "public right of way" was given. We want students to be able to carry on campus unfettered... not this nit-picky BS where you're afraid to carry at all because the law is so convoluted you can end up breaking it without even knowing why.

I say Kudos Jan!

Those other documents were to be acceptable if the original birth certificate could not be produced. It is a very similar list of documents that are acceptable when applying for a passport if a bc can not be produced.

Brewer was correct to veto this bill because:

1. It didn't do jack... Obama would just present the COLB.

2. It actually helps to empower Soros's Secretary of State project.
