I AM NOT A BIRTHER! But this one is too interesting to ignore. Upon hearing all the fuss about the newly released Certificate of Live Birth, I decided to open it up in Adobe Illustrator and see just what we were given by the White House. Judge for yourself but looks to be composed by multiple elements.

A digitally generated text document (Word, etc.) has meta data that Adobe has to work with when generating a PDF. A scanned document does NOT possess this same data. Apples and oranges. Whatever software is used to scan the document may create these layers too but it WILL NOT create a clipping mask. These are only generated in programs like Photoshop or Illustrator.

If there were "just" layers, I wouldn't be as skeptical. The presence of a clipping mask reveals a poor attempt to flatten the image and cover up manipulation.

I could be wrong though. Has any paper document you've scanned created a clipping mask?

It depends. :)

If you scan to a raster file - jpeg, tiff - and stay raster/image editor, then, yes, one layer of pixels. However..

I just took a photograph jpeg, one flat layer of pixels, opened it in Preview and saved it as a PDF, then opened the PDF in Illustrator.

In Illustrator I have: Layer 1, under that Group Layer, Image Layer, Clipping Layer. That's for a photo jpeg. For an image scanned or printed to PDF, depending on the settings, program and software… you can get a lot of layers you never made.

Here, to me, is a good test:

If we've discovered the original forgers layers, then:

1) We likely would see layers that aren't named as the software automatically does (Layer1, Group, Image, Clipping Path). It would be a nightmare to keep track of the layers without more than this set of names. We don't see this. We see what the software usually does.

2) We would be able to cleanly ungroup, release paths, etc. and get to each piece in some usable manner for manipulating. We can't - the software isn't perfect, it separates what it thinks it should and puts in on a layer, then repeats. This is a mess to try to alter.

Halos are created by sharpening, the bigger the halo, the more the sharpening. Most programs default to some degree of sharpening, adjustable by the user.

How does this compare 1961 date to the other person’s birth certificate that we have as an example, the person that was born after obamma? Does that birth certificate indicate the last digit of the year 1961 appear to be handwritten in?

Why is the template background image not flat?? Looks to be taken from a book or binder of other COLB.

You might recall that Dr. Fukino said she saw the original bound into a book along with many other similar forms. So, if the intention was to create a credible fake, it would make sense to simulate the curvature that you get when you scan from a book.

I looked at the certificate. I thought both parents had to be born in America. Says Obama’s father was born in Kenya. Am I missing something here?

You are missing that book Obama had his friend Billy Ayers ghost-write and which made millions in royalties. It celebrated his father's Kenyan origins and became a key part of his personal legend, on which he ran for President in 2008. You are also missing that the Chief Justice of the United States swore him in twice, while having full knowledge of his parentage. Stare decisis! And you are missing that the US Congress failed to disqualify his electoral votes, despite having full knowledge of his parentage. Constitutions cannot protect the sheeple from their bad judgement.

Time to exit this blind alley!

This person says it’s not a typo. Hope people can figure it out. Maybe it’s been addressed already.

There is no typo. I actually says THE but there appears to have been some grit or dust on the stamp lying across part of the H that makes it appears as an X.

The Forensic Error level analysis does not show anything suspicious for Photoshopping that I can see. Of course, the Photoshopping would be in the production of the fake original, which would then be photocopied onto the HI DOH security paper and in so doing would lose the Photoshopping artifact.
