Former Godfather’s Pizza CEO and radio talk show host Herman Cain was a surprise victor in a straw poll of GOP presidential candidates held at State Republicans’ 29th Annual Spring Gala on Friday.

Cain took 54 votes of 357 votes cast. He edged out former Massachusetts Gov. Willard “Mitt” Romney (52) and Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels (51). Daniels has yet to decide whether he will run......

To the best of my knowledge Cain has yet to campaign here, and he's winning early straw polls. It looks good BUT....Wrong Paul won a lot of straw polls in 08 and did jack squat in the primaries.

Wow. THIS is promising.

(I doubt Cain has spamming, swarming groupies flooding the polls like WRong Paul has. None of the polls he wins are legit - he's a bona fide loser).

This is a good sign of things to come.

Honestly, there should be some sort of FR Macro that deletes all threads containing the words “straw poll.”

The biggest reason that I am supporting Cain is that he is not a professional politican. I do not trust professional politicians.

We here in WA get Cable TV and Fox News broadcast the SC Debate. The MSM is going to try and ignore Cain for as long as possible, but he won the debate and people saw him. I intend to behave like a Paul Groupie and demand that pollsters include Cain, declared candidate and Republican debate winner.

Of the current candidates, I can see myself voting for Cain.

I think it would be WONDERFUL if Herman Cain won the nominaton.

I would just LOVE to watch the left fumble and bumble around with the whole race issue. They just wouldn’t know what to do with a smart, successful conservative black (not half white) man. I would also love to see how it changed the black vote, if at all.

Right. That’s why I was willing to listen to Trump. I’m more than willing to listen to Cain...I’ve been listening to him for years and unless he tries to change who he is to suit some consultants idea of what the ideal GOP candidate should be I’ll be very interested in him.

I don’t know that it would change the black vote. Herman does not appear to be the type of man that believes in “free” stuff because of the color you were born. He has a strong work ethic and expects the same of others.

That wouldn’t sit well with Obama voters.

A sweet sight to see would be Herman Cain kicking Hussein’s ass all over the debate stage. And then in the polls. And then on election day.

I believe that with proper funding he will win the nomination. I cannot fathom a scenario in which he loses a debate to Comrade O.

I could easily see him winning the election 55/45 with the G.O.P. holding the House and winning the Senate. Of course if the G.O.P. wants to continue NOT listening to the TEA party, then the congressional races are really in doubt.

I wouldn’t put to much stock in that..all the lefty press has to do is claim he is a sell out.. or worse.
Use you imagination ..you know what they call black conservatives.
Maybe Cain could call them on it without getting caught up in all the traps the lefty press set...?
