Another candidate has entered the Republican presidential field.  Former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination in his home town of Atlanta, Georgia today.  Instead of announcing via social networking websites, Cain, currently a talk radio host, made his announcement at a rally in Centennial Olympic Park.

On his website, Cain writes, "The biggest barrier to solving many of our national problems is lack of leadership."

It is not just you that sees it. I am very concerned about the Palinbots that have said they will write in Palin even if she does not run. I am also concerned about the Palinbots bashing Cain and Bachmann.

Maybe it is time for a new kind of candidate.

You mean someone who doesn’t know what happened Friday and hasn’t formulated a position on stuff that happened in 2002 yet?

Based on what little I know of the man he will quickly beat that sucker to death. If the demrats pin that on him I believe he will drive it right back in their faces. The nonUncle Toms have made a hash of everything they’ve touched. All he has to do is say it and provide the thousands of examples that prove it. More beauitifully, this is all “made for sound bite” material.

The only thing Onada, Sharpton, Jackson and the rest of them will be left with is physical threats and name calling.

The irony: In their persistent efforts to destroy the US economy they are also hurting the very people they claim to represent. Also, all that “Obama Money (so-called stimulus) has achieved nothing but a continuingly declining ecomomy. Certainly many demrats are so dumbed down and propagandized that no amount of pain could ever persuade them to vote for anyone other than a demrat. But I believe enough of the left’s base are getting it. The name calling and politics of personal destruction will not resonate with them.

The big question for libertarian and “moderate” Pubbies is whether or not they will vote for conservative candidates. They are under the delusion that they are driving the pres. candidate train—that Tea Party conservatives will have to vote for their candidates to keep the demrats out of office. It is the other way around.

"Hope he wears armor because the donks/libs are going to “Palinize” him and his entire family."

The donks/libs don't have to do a thing the Palinista and the Paulist will do it for them. If you don't believe me just scroll through the Herman Cain threads right here on FR. I expect many from both groups to run to the 'lamestream' media spewing their hatred and they will be more than happy to do it in an effort to spread dissention among Conservatives. Of the two groupsPaulist have always been that way, but to see the hate filled spew coming from the Palin backers has unbelievable, when you consider that what they are doing are the same tacitics that were.are used against Palin by the left.

“Did you see the TV images??? There were NOT 15,000 in attendence. In fact, I’d be shocked if there were more than about 1,000 or so.
The entire park was practically empty except for the space in front of the stage.

And it was a beautiful day too.”

libs will play that to the hilt. They will show a clip with a stadium full of people for obama and compare it to a clip of Cain not even getting 1000 people.

Irrelevant.

It was a great speech.

Naysayers within the GOP can just go join the libs on the Democrat side (who hate and detest this man; I heard as much on C^SPan afterwards on the Democrat lines), because their talking points against Herman are identical. So I dont let it bother me one bit, and I doubt the big guy running could care less. It's just static and we will ignore it and just head for the trenches in Iowa and start the prairie fire that is building at an incredible clip.

Obama will use this picture over and over in 2012 elections. I doubt it was even real in 2008.

Has he ever run a political campaign - as we speak?

I agree. They are not doing Palin any favors by behaving this way.

If your candidate is strong, you do not have to bash others to get ahead. Ron Paul followers are notorious for tearing down as they know this is the ONLY way Paul would win an election. But they’ve done this how many times now? You’d think by now they’d get that this tactic does NOT work.

Paulbots are all over Cain on Facebook. There are several anti Cain facebook pages and websites popping up already (with a handful of followers).

They will not attack Cain unless or until he becomes a contender. But the facts were there for all to see....unfortunately.

I watched Herman Cain give a speech several years ago in Iowa, and man oh man, he is the real deal. Such a great speaker, a ton of charisma, had really great things to say. I met him after the speech, the man is just electrifying, and super nice. Not just some bland meet and greet type, a real human being.

As a side note, I met Newt Gingrich while I was there as well. He was kind of touchy feely creepy. ;)

Cain/Bachmann would be a dream, wouldn't it???!!!

I wasn't swept away by Herman Cain. From the audio there's no way he had a crowd of 15,000 either.

Cain will be this cycle's Duncan Hunter or Alan Keyes making a few waves but generally having little impact. His rhetoric will garner notice of evangelicals but with TARP support, Romney support, lack of specificity, no elective record, and past stage 4 cancer I'm seeing plenty of drag on his candidacy. He could be considered for Commerce or Treasury secretaries but we need more than "trust my judgment" as reason to support a person applying to take on Obama.
