I wish I would have read through the thread before posting my ping to the 10th Amendment group. It appears Dewhurst and a few of our fearless state senators folded like a cheap card table. Stinking cowards!
Check some down thread comments. Looks like some of our leaders went wobbly before it could even make the first news cycle. Bummer!
No one can impose their will on Texas.
It’s one of her ingratiating quality’s
Most awesome! Thank you! If anybody will fight, it will be Texas...hopefully.
It’s good to see you back here. ;o)
BTTT!
conservatives - no toll. liberals - $100 a person
Yer right, that’s what I meant by him and his buddies...
Muh bad...
lol. Texas won’t ever secede. Texas loves that welfare from the feds as much as any other state. Not to mention that Texas caved upon getting that little threat from the feds.....lol.
SHUT IT DOWN
Those of us with ping lists can use them, if they choose. I'm sure they have Texans on their lists somewhere.
I know homeschoolers are not interference from the government fans. So for any TX homeschoolers, here you go.
They have cojones too.
I am ashamed of the Texas Legislature and our Governor.
I’ve got a little announcement to the rest of the country. Texas, as was reported earlier, was facing a projected shortfall of anywhere from 8 to 25 billion dollars over the next biennium. Here’s the newsflash: We are going to CUT OUR BUDGET by 15 BILLION DOLLARS over the next two years and keep our books in balance. I would argue that it’s 15 billion that desperately needed to be cut anyway. There is no talk of raising taxes.
We are already the most productive, energetic, and positive state in the union for business. After we cut this budget, watch us KICK YOUR ASS!

All I will say is that I hope it was killed because they didn’t think the benefits would outweigh the costs.
The Texas Senate backed down from what I understand...is this true?
Yawn, until the regime threatens Texas with sanctions then the Legislature will fold. Big hat, no cattle.
Uh, Dan Patrick is the best we got. I’d try to remember that. He’s building a coalition in the senate that is going to DOMINATE Texas politics for a generation.
Sen. Patrick got private assurances that he had plenty of votes to pass this bill. Then this letter came out. Then the gangsters at the Justice Department sent out TSA thugs to “visit” each senator in the hallways of the capitol. Then he started getting little whispers in his ear that senators were withdrawing support, and that the Lt. Gov. wanted this killed. Then Senator Dan came right out and said that the reason it was dead was because of Lt. Gov. Dewhurst—leaving an observer to wonder if he is considering a challenge to Gov. Dewhurst for Lt. Gov. next time around. Lt Gov is the most powerful politician in the state. It’s hard for a second term senator to oppose him, even one as influential as Dan. so be nice.
