The horses have to work in the heat, in the winter,
If they asked the horses would they prefer this or the knackers yard then I think they might get a clue.

She said places like Biloxi, Mississippi and Beijing, China have banned horse and carriage rides...So the "logic" is that if Biloxi, MS and Beijing, China have done something, then it's obvious that New York City should do the same thing?
Pretty weak argument, there...

Pretty silly, well fed, groomed and exercised horses, that is not abuse. Maybe they could sell the horses to some idiot animal rights activist who knows nothing about horses, is broke, half crazy and lets them starve.
To: Sub-Driver
We need to kill all domesticated animals to save them.

New York experiences these paroxysms of do-gooder-ism every few years. I think I recall at one time they passed a city ordinance requiring the stables to be heated and they had to get the damn ordinance repealed before it killed all the horses.
I don't know which has done more harm, Walt Disney's Bambi or Black Beauty?
As far as I'm concerned, the world is never been the same since the Brits outlawed my favorite sport, foxhunting.

I know one person that had two beautiful work horses. (gosh, I wish I could remember the breed but the ones with the long hair on those giant legs...) Anyways, he would hitch them up to logs. Knowing nothing about horses, I thought this odd until I saw how the horses reacted. They got all excited and literally backed up to the devices (don’t know the proper terms, sorry) to start pulling the logs. They LOVED it.

Most horses love having a job to do;these twits will never understand that fact.

These lib nutjobs don't think people should work for a living, so why horses? Apparently, all living creatures should sit on their @ss all day waiting for government handouts grown on trees and harvested from rainbows by overpaid public union workers who are allowed to get up off their @sses now & again, unless they don't feel like it on any given day.

My husband has a customer who is in charge of a sort of ASPCA for horses here in Texas.
She said they have to turn away “homeless” animals the economy has created. (Made worse by idiots who come down here thinking all they need is a couple of acres of grass.)
The law is pretty stiff down here for anyone who neglects or abuses...
The unfortunate result is that many are being taken across the border and dumped in Mexico.
You can imagine what happens to them there.
An out of work horse is a dead horse.

That is so sad! I always said that if I am ever able to get out of these darn suburbs and buy a place with some land/outbuildings, that I would allow the ASPCA to use the barn just for homeless horses. (granted, I will have to learn correct terminology and how to care for the but if there is a will...)

Save a horse, whip an animal-rights activist.
