The only mistake Palin made was in trying to meld the kindergarten version of Paul Revere's Ride with historical facts so this reporter could understand.

Stick with one or the other, Sarah.

I applaud your efforts in your personal "No Reporter Left Behind" crusade but, unfortunately, some of these people are too intellectually wounded to be rescued.

Here is a link.......

http://www.u-s-history.com/pages/h1261.html

“He warned the residents there that redcoats were likely to be dispatched in the near future to seize the town’s arms supply.”

“Paul Revere was taken prisoner and during his interrogation deliberately provided greatly inflated numbers of militiamen awaiting the British at Concord.”

“During the ride back to Lexington, Revere and his captors heard shots fire and church bells ring throughout the area — events that gave some credence to Revere’s report of colonial preparations.”

The fault lies with Palin’s aides who didn’t have her teleprompter set up quickly enough for her to read the answer.

The MSM is just executing their plan.

Sorry to disagree, but the MSM is executing the DNC's plans!

Yeah, basically she demonstrates how badly the GOP’s “Stop Sarah” campaign has failed with a triumphant run up the East Coast, making fools out of the MSM and upstaging Romney along the way, and all these fools want to focus on ‘Paul Revere.’ It’s really pathetic.

true but it matters to those that don’t like Palin because of the MSM narrative. Some will simply hate her no matter what. but some have been shaped by the MSM narrative. If Palin destorys the faith those people have in the MSM then her nagatives come down. And showing the world that it is the media and not her that is stupid is a good way to do it.

“If Palin destorys the faith those people have in the MSM then her nagatives come down.”

That would be a LONG, expensive, uphill fight, I’m afraid.

a thousand mile journey starts with the first step. People already don't trust the media per recent polls. Palin simply has to show the disconnect of what the media says to what reality is. Palin will not only win the nomination she will win the general.

Well, the phrase “the British are coming” simply never happened, nor would it have come from Paul Revere’s mouth-—who was British. He shouted, “The REDCOATS are coming” or “to arms.” All Americans were British subjects in 1775, and none of them thought of themselves as anything else.

Perhaps you did not go to the right repository of facts, was it by design, or ignorance?

Revere recounts in a 1789 letter maintained by the Massachusetts Historical Society.

http://www.masshist.org/database/img-viewer.php?item_id=99&img_step=1&tpc=&pid=&mode=transcript&tpc=&pid=#page1

(page 4)

“I observed a Wood at a Small distance, & made for that. When I got there, out Started Six officers, on Horse back, and orderd me to dismount;-one of them, who appeared to have the command, examined me, where I came from,& what my Name Was? I told him. it was Revere, he asked if it was Paul? I told him yes He asked me if I was an express? I answered in the afirmative. He demanded what time I left Boston? I told him; and aded, that their troops had catched aground in passing the River, and that There would be five hundred Americans there in a short time, for I had alarmed the Country all the way up. He imediately rode towards those who stoppd us, when all five of them came down upon a full gallop; one of them, whom I afterwards found to be Major Mitchel, of the 5th Regiment, Clapped his pistol to my head, called me by name, & told me he was going to ask me some questions, & if I did not give him true answers, he would blow my brains out. He then asked me similar questions to those above. He then orderd me to mount my Horse, after searching me for arms.He then orderd them to advance, & to lead me in front. When we got to the Road, they
turned down towards Lexington. When we had got about one Mile, the Major Rode up to the officer that was leading me, & told him to give me to the Sergeant. As soon as he took me, the Major orderd him, if I attempted to run, or any body insulted them, to blow my brains out. We rode till we got near Lexington Meeting-house, when the Militia fired a Voley of Guns, which appeared to alarm them very much.”

Additionally, as the Paul Revere Heritage Project notes

http://www.paul-revere-heritage.com/midnight-ride.html

“The Redcoats had set temporary roadblocks as a security measure and on their way to Concord they encountered British soldiers. Prescott managed to escape; Revere was captured and Dawes tried to run away but was arrested shortly thereafter. The British held Revere and interrogated him with a pistol on his chest. He was asked about the plans of the militia and where they kept their ammunition. When asked where the Patriots were hiding he told them the truth and replied that they had 500 militiamen in Concord protecting them and 1500 coming. As they rode towards Concord he was told that if he tried to escape he would be shot.”
