NYT Asks Readers to Help Dig Up 'Interesting and Newsworthy' Palin Emails (AKA Anti-Palin Dirt)
Times Watch ^ | A.D. 09 June 2011 | Clay Waters

Posted on 06/09/2011 2:32:24 PM PDT by Robert Drobot

Early Thursday afternoon, Derek Willis posted on the paper’s "Caucus" blog a request surely enticing to the paper’s online liberal readership: "Help Us Investigate the Sarah Palin E-Mail Records." Ken Shepherd at NewsBusters says enlisting newspaper readers to pore through the email trove "indirectly amounts to free oppo research for the 2012 Obama campaign."

On Friday, the State of Alaska will release more than 24,000 of Sarah Palin’s e-mails covering much of her tenure as governor of Alaska. Times reporters will be in Juneau, the state capital, to begin the process of reviewing the e-mails, which we will be posting on nytimes.com starting on Friday afternoon E.D.T.

We’re asking readers to help us identify interesting and newsworthy e-mails, people and events that we may want to highlight. Interested users can fill out a simple form to describe the nature of the e-mail, and provide a name and e-mail address so we’ll know who should get the credit. Join us here on Friday afternoon and into the weekend to participate.

Sounds like a liberal party at the Times this weekend. But where was this crowd-sourcing investigative enthusiasm upon the release of the 2,000-page Obama-care bill, when it could have uncovered all sorts of expensive hidden surprises?

The Times was actually beaten to this game by the Washington Post, who made a similar request (it’s a more formal process than the Times') just after noon on Thursday.

We must all remember......they ARE the party of unintended consequences.

With all these people reading her emails, her base will expand.

Yes, and their placing moles on Sarah’s Facebook and on here, too, I’m sure. They can kiss it. It’s obvious that she scares the bejeezus out of them. I’m having fun watching them go crazy. They’re playing it as if “she can’t win” and trying to fluff up Romney since they know how popular he is with conservatives (total sarcasm).

Once again, if she matters so little, why are they making her matter so much? We know why. Sarah Palin is the real deal. She may have been a bit shaky at first, but she’s getting smarter every day. She’s not going to let them break her. I just hope she decides to run. (I’m hoping for Palin/DeMint, but right now, I just want Palin.)

I was thinking the same thing. Swamp their site with emails and keep them working on false leads.

"disgusting" . . . "creepy" . . . but accurate!

The NYT believes it is "newsworthy."

Ok.

"And the NYT circulation is shrinking as fast as Newt's staff, too.

Watch the day she announces. They are showing their desperation and their knowledge that Palin is nowhere near as unelectable as they make it sound. They know she is not only 0bama’s but a major threat to their own credibility.

Pawn to King-Four ...

The NYT and Washington Post acomplished EXACTLY what they wanted ...

It let it be PUBLICLY KNOWN that it (and it's Staffers) are actively recruiting "Citizen Investigators" to peruse through ALL of Sarah's 20,000 e-mails ...

THEN it conveniently appeared to say "Uncle" to the Tea Party ...

What a line of B.S ... the NYT and Washington-Post message has already ignited the fire they intended to set ..

Mission Accomplished ....

Meanwhile ... to be Honest, what did the Washington Post do that was Wrong ?

Absolutely nothing. Period.

"Citizen Investigations" (Free Republic conservatives, notably "BuckHead" helped bring down Dan Rather in 2004) ...

Doesn't Free Republic (by proclamation) encourage US everyday to investigate every Nook and Cranny of The Kenyan Boy Wonder (Obama) ... just like we did Bill Clinton, Loral, and Jonh Kerry ?

Fair is fair ...

Excellent idea. Literally flood them with positive Palin accomplishment stories and executive successes, as well as quotes of Palin leading the fight against O'Bughole. We could drive them absolutely batsh*t.

LMAO!!!

I'm in if you guys are. Could we maybe do a sub-rosa ping of the Palin List to gin up some mischeivous support here?

:^O

There was a subtle lesson in the recent escapades of Donald Trump. Donald Trump flamboyantly demands Obama’s birth certificate...and get’s it in short order. Then laughs his way all the way back to better ratings next season. BUT, ask yourself why did Obama respond? /Hold that thought.

How is Trump like Sarah Palin, they both have pop culture notoriety whether positive or negative. Ask yourself, does it really matter if it‘s negative?

The bloom is well off the rose, all Obama has left is his pop culture plastic banana following. The left knows this well -better than most.

Well, got a couple of new tagline ideas from reading the comments over there:

Things are so bad at the NY Times they have to outsource their investigations.

And:

So jobs at McDonalds and Sarah Palin Investigations are the President's plan to rescue us from unemployment?

Would much rather read about the scandals behind the scenes of the NYSlimes. They have had their share of scandals and caught lying...last I heard their paper was in financial trouble.

Even if they find something the least bit useable it will backfire on them. I susdpect they’ll use the email dumpster dive as a vehicle for inventing stuff.

As someone has already commented, what could be left after the way the left fine combed her whole life. All they eventually came up with were some emails she sent the Alaskan HwY Patrol Chief asking him to do something about the trooper who was abusing her sister.

Perhaps this was precipitated by the imploding Gingrich, a demrat stooge, pres. candidacy. And the rats are finally realizing few if any of their RINO stealth stooges have much of a chance either.

She has to be destroyed. She’s too independent and honest for both parties. She has no ties to DC and no loyalty to the grand poobahs and the way business has always been conducted. In fact she’s hostile to it and to the good ole boys and the Beltway pundits.

They carp about her *high* negatives while she surges in the polls and now they’re calling her possible candidacy a *vanity run*, likening her large crowds to George McGovern’s...LOL.

She’s never caught one break because the democrats and GOP-E do NOT want her to be the first woman president.

Screw ‘em all.

I stand resolutely with Sarah Palin and ready to FIGHT LIKE A GIRL (which I am)!

RUN, SARAH RUN!!!!

Don’t they realize that when people hear about this, they’ll crawl over broken glass to vote for Sarah Palin to throw it back in their faces if nothing else...

I hope and pray she wins especially after all the crap she and her family have had to endure.

This only proves how pathetic and worthless MSM really is.
