President Barack Obama is on track to make North Carolina one of the most competitive states on the 2012 map, according to a new survey from the Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling reported first in Morning Score.
Obama has a narrowly positive approval rating in the state, where hes headed for a visit today: 49 percent of voters approve of his job performance, versus 47 percent who disapprove. Independents are evenly split on the president, with 47 percent rating him positively and 46 percent giving him negative reviews.

Obama has solid leads over all the Republican candidates except Mitt Romney, whom he edges by just 1 percentage point. The president is ahead of Tim Pawlenty by 7 points, Newt Gingrich by 10 points and Herman Cain by 11 points. He performs best against Sarah Palin, leading her by a 14-point margin.
PPP flags three key points to help explain Obama's standing in the Tarheel State: his approval rating with independents, the lack of drop-off in white voter approval (37 percent of whites voted for him in 2008 and 25 percent approve of him now) and his overwhelming, 76 percent approval rating with voters under 30.

I walked into the polling place wearing my Arizona T-shirt in 2008. Got smiles from the whites and dirty looks from the blacks. Didn’t give a crap what they thought either. As far as Bev not winning again, do not bet on it, they may not vote for pOs but they are dumb enough to put her back in.
Yep!
Don't be too sure about that one (at least not wholesale). I went through the Wendy's drive through the other day and the young (black) man emptying the trash and cleaning the parking lot walked up to my truck while I was waiting for my food and said "I noticed your bumper sticker". I have a "Joke's over--Bring back the Constitution" bumper sticker.. he said "they're trying to turn this country into a socialist state and every darned one of them needs to get voted out next time"...while I am sure he is an exception, NOT the rule, Obama will be losing at least SOME of his support in the black community.
Most blacks wouldn't even know what a socialist state is. You just happened to run into one of those rare conservative blacks that probably didn't vote for Hussein last time anyway.
while I am sure he is an exception, NOT the rule, Obama will be losing at least SOME of his support in the black community.
No way dude. Wait till the Obama campaign ramps up again. The kinds of ads they run in the black community are always "us against them". Former DC Mayor Marion Berry got caught on tape smoking crack with a hooker and the people of our nations capital (blacks) voted him back into office. Identify politics mean everything in the black community, and you can be sure that they will turn out massively for him. Obama WILL win 95% of the black vote again.
Well, you could be right—but I sincerely hope you’re wrong.
