House Speaker John Boehner isnt swayed by movement in the Senate to back U.S. military involvement in Libya, saying Wednesday that the House is leaning against authorizing President Barack Obamas actions in the North African dictatorship.
In terms of authorizing force, the Ohio Republican said: I dont think thats where the House is.
House GOP leadership unveiled two Libya resolutions Tuesday night: one would end U.S. involvement and the other would authorize the use of force. The latter option is similar to a resolution introduced in the Senate by Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), who want to give the White House the green light on limited military action.
McCain has recently accused Republicans who oppose the Libyan effort of embracing an isolationist policy. But Boehner dismissed the notion of a rift in the GOP, saying the only point of difference between House Republicans and hawkish senators such as McCain and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is on whether to authorize action in Libya.
If youve listened to what Sen. McCain has said and Sen. Graham, two friends of mine, and youve listened to what I and some others have said, weve said almost the exact same thing, except theyre pushing for an authorization in Libya, and I dont think thats where the House is, Boehner said.

Why are we in Lybia? Anyone?
We really need to stop being the world’s police.
Funny, I heard that very phrase coming from the left for 40 years. Who will step into that role? History has shown time and again that nations are incapable of policing themselves. Should we turn the role over to China? Russia? Or Iran? What we should be doing, though, is more "policing" in this hemisphere.
I am really sick of this “my friends” crap. Whether it’s RINOs or democrats it is past time to beat these worthless idiots to the ground and kick them a couple of times on the way to restoring the constitution. Screw being nice and “collegial”; this is a war and they are the domestic enemies that we and Boehner have sworn to defend and protect.
FUBO & FAD
Ditto that!!
They should all go out golfing together...
...or perhaps to a cabaret bar.
How about letting them kill each other? Why should I care what dictator in a sovereign nation like Qadaffi does to his people as long as he isn’t a threat to American life, liberty, and persuit of happiness?
0bama wants to support the Muslim Brotherhood?
RINO’s travel in groups...He needs better friends
