SNIP

Sgt. 1st Class Jared Monti was actually killed in Afghanistan on June 21, 2006. In September 2009, President Obama awarded him the Medal of Honor posthumously.

On his Facebook page this evening, Monti's father, Paul, posted: "FYI- President Barack Obama telephoned me personally this afternoon to apologize for his error in his speech to the 10th mountain division re: Jared's medal ceremony. Apology accepted."

After the screaming fits that were reported when Netanyahu scorned Obama’s “solution” for peace, I'm surprised that anyone competent wants to work in the White House. The kids don't understand the importance of fact checking.

There is an apology needed to every single member of our military, past and present. Congress deserves an apology, for his vain claims that he, and not they awarded that medal.

And the country deserves not only an apology but a resignation, for his absolute disdain of the Constitution.

It is far more likely though, that we will be treated to some story about how Andrew Breitbart hacked his teleprompter.

[Obama citation] A moment later, he rose again. And again they fired everything they had at him, forcing him back. Faced with overwhelming enemy fire, Jared could have stayed where he was, behind that wall..... (and blah, blah, blah ....)

There is a certain courtly English that is used in military citations for valor. It is stately, dignified, and grammatically precise, not extemporaneous, colloquial, and "street". Obama shows his unfitness for office, by his not bothering either to learn to use it, or to resort to the assistance of people who know this special language of military citation, to ensure that American heroes receive their public due.

Obama spoke instead as if he were canvassing for votes in a Southside Chicago bar.

Reminds me a bit of someone from Minnesota that refused to make a direct/public apology for her actions...

Whom do you mean? What happened? Can you post a link to it? Cite a story?

Well, it certainly isn’t easy. I have to admit that I struggle with it on a daily basis. I am not, by nature, a forgiving person. I am stubborn, and my memory doesn’t seem to want to let go of things, including anger or frustration. But I do my best. And the more I try, the better I get at it.

On the other hand, there are some things that I just can’t conceive of forgiving. And I don’t tend to forgive unless the other person actually asks for forgiveness. Part of me thinks I should, and I’ve SAID that’s how it should be. But the truth is that I very rarely do it that way.

Even still, the father accepted the apology. He has his reasons. That doesn’t mean that *I* forgive Obama. He didn’t apologize to us, or to the military, so I’m not really required to forgive him, am I?

Oh, yeah -- heard about that. I just assumed it was Rollins off the leash and hoped she'd can him right then and there. Still hoping.....

Obama is a real jerk for his gaffe. Can you even imagine the media uproar if this had been President Bush? There would have been story after story of how this proves Bush does not care about these soldiers.

[To hell with the fraud-in-chief and his “appologies”. They’re nothing more than empty words from a pathological liar.]

My thoughts exactly.

“FYI- President Barack Obama telephoned me personally this afternoon to apologize for his error in his speech to the 10th mountain division re: Jared’s medal ceremony. Apology accepted.”

He’s much nicer than me, I would have told him to, “Go to hell,” and waited calmly for the secret service to show up at my door.

“God forbid anything were to happen to my son, but, if my son is killed in action I will not permit this man to have anything to do with any service or ceremony for my son. I would invite President Bush, but not this empty suit.”

You got that right!

To be forgiven, one must first stop the wrongful behavior (repent) and strive to never do it again. The Kenyan-in-Chief proves that his “appologies” are empty through repeated instances of his improper actions.

Thank you. This one is going to be tough. I have always been prepared, and I’ve always trusted that the leaders did care for the sacrifices the military community makes. But after our lovely representatives left us all twisting in the wind over the budget, after they used those who already give so much as pawns in their game in such a blatant manner, well I’m just so disgusted, and now that I have seen yet another glaring example of how little we all mean to our government and more specifically, our “Commander in Chief, it is just that much harder.

This really reminds me of Anchorman: The Leged of Ron Burgundy—the part where they know he will read anything off the TelePrompTer, so his rival puts horrible things on it, and the whole city ends up hating him.
