These tactics may be new to the American left/liberals, but they have a long and “distinguished” history amongst groups such as the National Socialist German Workers’ Party during the 30s, and the Italian Partito Nazionale Fascista.

The democrats have been dreaming of a global communist state for 150 years, they can taste it now.

They would reduce the planet to a cinder before giving up. Anyone that does not realise that is a fool.

Statement by Randi Weingarten, President, American

Federation of Teachers, On Launch of Worldwide Quality Public Services Campaign

WASHINGTON—The American Federation of Teachers joins with workers around the world to launch a new campaign aimed at advancing quality public services in every nation.

The AFT is proud to be a full partner in the Council of Global Union’s “Quality Public Services—Action Now!” campaign to support investment in the services that create jobs and provide the foundation for long-term economic growth. The council is highlighting and supporting essential public services that keep our communities strong and help build sustainable, healthy economies.

From Wisconsin to Cairo, citizens have been fighting efforts to keep workers silent. As public employees in Wisconsin continue their struggle to maintain collective bargaining rights, Wisconsin has been selected as a pilot site in the “Quality Public Services—Action Now!” campaign, through the AFT-affiliated Wisconsin Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals and AFT-Wisconsin.

Defending public services and the workers who provide them is a worldwide challenge, and the AFT is standing with allies around the globe to maintain those services and the rights of public employees. That’s why I led an AFT delegation that visited Egypt to meet with the independent Egyptian unions whose efforts proved decisive in bringing down the corrupt regime that ruled their country for decades.

It's scarcely arguable that, in the political sense, liberalism is on the ropes. Obama spent their last nickel. They have lost the House and will lose the Senate, with little chance of regaining them in the near future. The same is true of the White House once the messiah gets the bum's rush come 2012.

Demographics say otherwise

Any gains by us will be short lived, soon Texas will go permanently Blue and it will be impossible to ever win a national election again.

This is NOT inevitable. A sense of “inevitability” is what the MSM ALWAYS tries to paint...so as to discourage rational, organized opposition to their hyper-emotional insane screaming and ranting.

It does mean that most of us who disdain or eschew politics will no have that luxury if we intend to remain free and carry the banner of individual freedoms into the heart of the 21st century, however. We will have to get up , go out, and do it.

It's not necessarily foreordained. Our finances are crap. There's no prospect of an economic recovery on the horizon. Tons of zoning, labor and environmental laws need to be repealed. If we take the White House and the Senate in 2012, it's time to start with the 1960s anti-white immigration law. We don't need low/no skilled immigrants for the foreseeable future. It's time to import brains and bucks.

A good start, after repealing Obamacare, would be getting rid of every bill Teddy Kennedy ever wrote.

This is a hugely significant piece -- incisive and accurate.

All FReepers should be aware of it and understand its significance.

It should be bumped at every opportunity.

What all this amounts to is the baptism of fire of what I have taken to calling the "liberal superstructure." This superstructure is the vast constellation of advocacy groups, think tanks, single-issue outfits, unions, and various other flotsam constructed by the left over the past half-century or so. There are literally thousands of these groups, ranging from the ACLU and the Sierra Club with their hundreds of thousands of members...

The author failed to point out a very important point about these groups in the "liberal superstructure".

They virtually receive generous federal funding!

ACLU is generously compensated for every civil rights case it brings. That includes the suits brought by atheists and homosexuals, as well as those brought by minorities.

The Sierra Club receives grants to bring suit against "polluters" and, indeed, the EPA itself (when the EPA can't get Congressional clearance to regulate something, but can have their role mandated by a federal jodge).

Remember ACORN? The organization that received billions in government grants?

In other words, the taxpayers are helping to fund this "liberal superstructure". It's the very same game as the public employees unions play -- they negotiate with Democrats for their paycheck, then make a contribution (kick-back) to the Democrat party's campaign funds.

It is absolutely essential that a GOP Congress and a GOP President de-fund the "liberal superstructure".

Newt claimed he would take such action after the 1994 election. Regrettably, he never got around to it...

All our side has in this para-political war is the Tea Parties -- a bunch of amateurs lined up against a well-organized and well-funded mob. It's 1776 all over again...

And Hemingway and Hollywood romanticizing the commies every step of the way.

And George Orwell, a socialist, learning the truth about socialism. And becoming an anti-Communist.

In Spain, for the first time, a communist revolution was put down, and rolled back. One of the great attractions of Fascism in the 1930s was that they could prove that they were capable of stopping the communists. A claim that no democracy at the time could match.

This is what attracted much of the German middle-class to the Nazis. They had lived through an attempted Communist takeover in Germany (the 1919 Spartacist Rebellion, seen Communists seize power in Russia, a bloody short-term Communist takeover in Hungary. They had heard about the terror-famine in Ukraine. And the Nazis were the only ones willing to fight the Reds in the streets.
