"They start trashing the store [and] eating," Farah said while watching surveillance video of the incident. "It's like they're robbing the store."
While several paid, the rest ate, drink and stole before police could get there, Farah said.
"We had to clean up for two hours," he said. "Plus, merchandise is gone. A bunch of merchandise is gone."

Part of Farah's problem, officers said, is that three large apartment complexes are nearby his store.
Dallas police said officers have responded to 26 calls for help from his store this year, most coming within the last month for crimes like shoplifting, disorderly conduct and even aggravated assault.

re: a store design, how about a giant vending machine with chips and drinks and phonecards and whatever else a crappy store would have, no clerk, no english, just pictures and a place to swipe your gubmint card.
This is priceless. It is an opportunity for the GOP to run an ad about the economy being so bad and the lack of jobs is causing the youth in America to resort to robbing stores and wilding so they can eat. No mention of color, nationality or location.
Remind them of the Carter years with gas lines, interest rates and crime rates.

He is across the street from site of the murder of a shopkeeper three days ago. He told the police he was outside and heard the shots. The chances of him getting killed is high.

I don’t know about Dallas, but in at least two local schools here (Stephenville and Dublin) they are actually serving BREAKFAST and LUNCH to kids ages 1-18, REGARDLESS OF INCOME.
I thought we were going broke? I know we have let some of the teachers go.
I understood the original poster to mean that the "urban youth" mob incidents have mostly occurred up north. Not intended to be a slur, as far as I could tell.
