What I'd Like To See and Scratching My Head...Where Are These?
7-14-11 | Self

Posted on 07/14/2011 6:24:03 AM PDT by CincyRichieRich

I'm frustrated like many of my fellow Freepers. I'm hoping McConnel ends up being a hero not a goat, same for Cantor. At the same time, I see Obama raising cash, not like 2008, but still the same, he has the MSM and piss-bucket carriers and cheaters at the pols on his side.

So, why aren't we seeing the following from our side: 1. A bill from the House proposing a 15% corporate tax rate that would apply somehow to small businesses as well...even something beneficial to LLCs. Make Obama veto it...get him on record. There would be trouble getting it through the senate, but let's trust the people and try anyway. 2. Why are Cantor, Boehner, McConnel still meeting with this dictator...he gives the location and time and we jump. Like Rush said, stop going and give a catchy sound byte as to what the "new" solution must have in it or there is no point in meeting.

I question the same thing. Why is the GOP doing what it is doing? If they trot off to Camp David it will get even worse. I suspect the GOP establishment wants to make the “Grand Bargain” with Obama. The RATS are ready to screw the Social Security recipients. All of us. Social Security is no longer a Cash Cow they can steal from every month for other nefarious schemes. They are willing to throw Granny under the Bus now maybe. They have to blame the GOP though. The main thing they want is to get this mess covered up till after 2012 election. All of them want that except for a few new Tea Party members. It takes a while to corrupt a new member.

“Why are Cantor, Boehner, McConnel still meeting with this dictator...”

So no one can say they DIDN’T!

We have a Kabuki President with a Kabuki understanding of economics and leadership....SO… it’s all Kabuki government, anyway!

I cannot comprehend why anyone expects anything different or better from “O”

Not if they don’t give in. They took a strong stand Saturday and made some powerful statements Monday. if not for this crappy McConnell proposal, I would be pretty happy with everything this week. I agree with others to stop these meetings and possibly lay down the ultimatum to propose his spending cuts publicly...then put a bill together with some of his cuts and some of there cuts. Then send the bill to the Senate with the BBA.

I think these guys are afraid to stand up to him. I think they think they will be reported as mean if they speak up like Cantor did. They need to remember and mention what righteous anger; spending so much that you know eventually the economy will colaspe. The left needs open there eyes and see the money they are spending is gone and if they take from the rich (which means more job loses) what happens when they don’t have money and there is no one to bail us out? They needs to be strong and not fearful when they know they are right. It almost sounds like they need talking points from the ordinary people. We should pray God gives them wisdom, boldness and words to fight with.

We need leaders with spines up on the Hill. Boehner and McConnell are patsys.

he's doesn't need 2008 cash. he's sold mankind out and has a lot of favors coming in as a result. he is the most powerful, scrawny-assed slacker on the planet. He doesn't need cash. He has power.

Best solution: do nothing.

As noted before, a “shutdown” does not terminate essential services, leaving about half the gov’t running. Those non-essential services are, on the whole, what “tea party types” want eliminated anyway. This reduction in operations cuts spending by about 50% - enough to instantly eliminate the deficit and save enough to start paying down the debt principal. Military continues, debt interest payments continue, Social Security and a few other major obligations continues, etc. while pretty much everything else outside Constitutional requirements comes to a sudden and well-deserved halt.
...all with no effort and no legislation whatsoever.

Inform the Obama et al that this is not a crisis mode which must be averted, this is a desirable state of affairs - and that if they want anything different, they’ll have to come to the table in a spirit of humility and submission to limited Constitutional empowerment (not arrogant “d@mn the credit limit, full spending ahead! you want anything, submit to me!”).

Assure the markets all debts will be paid on time.
Assure the needy their entitlements will be issued.
Assure the citizens the borders will be secured.

Shut down the rest, and let the Left know in no uncertain terms we don’t see this as a problem.

The Founders knew that all government is corrupt. All political Parties are corrupt. It is Human Nature and no amount of PC can change it. That is the main reason the Constitution limited the power of the government, Over 300 years the corrupt elected officials...now I am assuming all elected officials are corrupt. Have expanded government so much that the Constitution is compromised. Franklin said “You have a Republic if you can keep it. Well we could not keep it. This is the nature of the Beast we are now fighting. Moral Relativism rules the day.

Obama has dozens of federal agencies raising money for him by robbing hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars and feeding it to democrat support groups.

There are two questions: How much the government should spend, and how the government should get the money it spends.

The current question is how much the government should spend. In that argument, tax policy is a distraction. Government should spend less, and a cut of about 1 trillion this year is needed. The borrowing limit is one way to get us on the way to spending cuts that are needed.

Raising tax rates would cut government income. Lowering tax rates will eventually increase income, but we all know that is not how it will be displayed. We see how eagerly the MSM has taken up Obama’s canard about deductions for jet aircraft, a deduction put in by his favorite bill, signed by him, a deduction that wouldn’t pay for a single year of his overspending even if the deduction was eliminated for 4000 years.

Not raising the debt ceiling is the best I can hope for. Either Obama cuts the government to make interest payments, or he defaults, in which case he is impeached, and noone will lend to him anyways, and the government gets cut in any event.

“What I’d Like To See and Scratching My Head...Where Are These?”
*********************

What I’d like to see is all hands just plain ole AMERICANS!!!!!

Deep Six all political potties!

Would you believe our first constitution, the AOC, had no executive, legislative, nor judicial branches?

No wonder “they” held their ConCon in secret and hijacked the convention to the point of killing our first constitution, which they were not authorized to do, for a new, more easily manipulated con!

These were the first of the big gubmint imperialists who eventually too over America and now rule...

o much for political potties!

“Not if they don’t give in. They took a strong stand Saturday and made some powerful statements Monday. If not for this crappy McConnell proposal, I would be pretty happy with everything this week.”

This is similar to arbitration where nobody gets their way. But, sometimes in arbitration, for various reasons, you make a ridiculous offer. The other side must respond and from their response you learn what their limits and tolerances are. If we are to stick to the Constitution and its limitations, neither side can win. So, both sides must negotiate to get a majority of what they want. We will most likely end up with more taxes and less in spending cuts than we want. If Republicans had a super majority in the Senate then conservatives might (stress “might”) get what they wanted. Until conservatives take both houses and maybe even the presidency, we’re living in a liberal alternate reality construct where windmills supply power and unicorns make food and essentials appear by magic.

They really don’t have to do ANYTHING!
Just do NOTHING!
The limit will automatically go into effect without any action on the part of the Republicans.
Obamugabe is in a position where he HAS TO TRY AND FORCE THE REPUBLICANS TO DO SOMETHING.
They have the upper hand, but will they use it? History, as a guide, says: no..................

I totally agree with you. I think they should also come up with a framework which covers the interest of the debt, all current levels of Social Security, Medicare/caid, veterans’ payments, with everything else scaled back to 2008 levels, listed in their priority. Obamacare should be out - due to the federal court judge finding of unconstitutionality, and the EPA should be the last thing on the list (as well as all Czars’ salaries). Obviously there won’t be enough money for everything on the list. :)

They need to make their position crystal clear, and send it on up to the Senate. They should go public with it - maybe some of the media outlets would cover it.

This is why the coverup regarding his BC and other documents is critical. Those who think we can beat this trickster on the issues are fooling themselves. Unless the media turns on him (like they did on Carter), the vast majority of americans will only hear what Obama wants them to hear.

But impeachment charges? Those are hard to ignore or spin...
