Hes been ridiculed by the media. Liberal spinners say he has lost control over the Tea Party. But in fact the Speaker of the House Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) had a plan, stuck to it, and is likely to get much of what he wants.
In a remarkable press conference revealed that he had a deal with the White House on large debt reduction and $800 billion in additional revenue to be achieved through tax reform and enhanced enforcement. Boehner brought out his Jell-O analogy once again to describe the White House. He said bluntly, Its the president who walked away from his agreement and demanded more money at the last minute.
Boehner is the composed adult in the room now. He, excuse the expression, called the presidents bluff a viable deal with no tax hikes and Obama blinked (or sloshed in the other direction, to follow the Jell-O imagery).
All of this followed Obamas appearance in which he angrily accused Boehner of walking away from the deal. (According to Boehner, Obama upped the revenue figure at the last moment.)
Boehner now has left the White House on the sidelines, has his troops in order and can craft a deal with the Senate. At this point, the Senate Democrats who have never put forth a plan of any type must be desperate for a deal.....

Boehner is working the America hating POTUS Obama like a buzz saw, running at full speed. Obama, is not fit to take garbage out to the trash can in the evening. The Democrat ilk better broom this Obama dude quickly, or....the whole Democrat Party will suffer big time losses next November, 2012!! Obama is now a confirmed lame duck POTUS and Joe Biden is the dancing jester fool & idiot combined!!! Can you imagine that the people of the USA voted for Obama? Who’d have thunk?????
More effective methods of collecting taxes (you don’t wanna know...). LOL
Obama is wearying of this. He wants to get it over with.
For Boehner, this is second nature and it’s what he lives for.
I am thoroughly enjoying watching Boehner spin Obama up the way he is. It is hilarious. Maybe the tears he had in the past were just to get the Democrats to underestimate him.
I guess the Geithner or Rangle exemptions won't fly anymore...oh wait....they are Dems. It might mean that non-Muslims, Republicans (and the Eeeeevil Rich) will pay more.
Gee, I hope this doesn’t interfere with Barry’s tee time this weekend.
Agreed.
Question: Standard and Poor along with Moody’s, aren’t they under the Federal Government....and doesn’t the latter have to answer to Obama?
There, fixed that sh!t.
I like this John Boehner much better than the simpering emotional one we had seen so much of in the recent past.
Looks like the propaganda squad is actually getting real here...not good for the Kenya born imposter in our WH...
We’re watching him like a hawk. So far he’s held his own, but the GOP has a reputation for surrendering after winning the battle.

Was that sarcasm? They are private companies.
You can only be lied to for so long before you wake up and smell the coffee.
You misheard. What he said was in-hands enforcement of the tax code . . . more taxes in HIS hands.
I’m waiting on Boehner. I wonder if he can keep his resolve. He’s in the position of power now, but can he keep it or will he fold?
From the article “A senior Republican Senate adviser said admiringly of Boehner, Im glad he stayed calm.
We all know Boehner gets sentimental, but he doesn’t seem to be a hot head at all. (And I should know, I’m a mega hot head, despite my demure attitude here on FR.)
Boehner’s been getting a lot of flack from his right flank, but he seems to be handling it.
I think he is doing the best job possible in the totality of the reality.
Most importantly he is putting forward OUR ideas in a way that is palatable to the vast, vast, mushy, mushy middle.
I know we here don’t have too much use for those “moderates”, but they are our family, our friends, our neighbors and our co-workers. It is THEY who decide elections, not us and not our adversaries on the, let’s say on the engaged left.
If we lose those middlers, we lose elections.
I feel that Boehner is playing the long game here.
Let’s continue to give him our support.
The GOP reminds me of the team that needs all 4 downs to get into the end zone after the opposing defense has left the field..
Obama said yesterday HIS ‘ONLY bottom line’ is - ceiling increase until after the next election.
