I hadn’t noticed either. Past presidents addressed us from the Oval Office or if they were in the East Room for a Q&A they were flanked by gold curtains and not at the end of the hall like Obama. There’s no doubt Obama likes this spot because of the background. This White House is obsessed with “optics.”
