This will be rejected in the house unless rinos join with Dems. This is a scripted sell out. They are delaying so tea party wont have time to react. email your congressman now. I just did!! His staff won’t enjoy the read.

If there’s one thing the dems are good at, it’s acting like a general contractor. Obama couldn’t get re-elected on his own, so he subbed it out to the republican congressional leaders.

I think it’s nuts too, but where did those three not recognize the personhood in the womb? Those three can’t overturn Roe V Wade.

Nevertheless, it still comes down to would you rather have a Kagan or a Roberts? Sotomayer or an Alito? Ginsberg or a Scalia? Breyer or a Thomas?

Elections matter.

Disagree. True that the Dems will still have 40+ to filibuster, but it means something to have the majority in a number of other areas...including controlling what is brought to the Senate floor.

Their oath is to support the Constitution, not the court, or some judge, or some old unconstitutional court decision in one particular case.

"No person shall be deprived of life without due process of law."

"No State shall deprive any person of life without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

While I have made that same argument, others have been more than reasoned by explaining that’s how we got here in the first place.

Did we “fix” things from 2001 to 2009, when we had the White House, the House, and the Senate under our control?

Why should you, I, or anyone think they will fix it if we get a majority again?

The Key hear is the BBA .... I don’t think any politician would be able to stand forward and vote no on it, because of the amount of debt and the absolute danger of this debt. I am so happy that the Republicans got dragged kicking and screaming by the tea party but in the end if this BBA gets a chance it will pretty much change everything going forward.

The BBA is a vote to end socialism in America.

Both the left and right are screeching “betrayal, sellout!” What a shock.

Listening to Billy Cunningham. Hannity is on program right now.

The leaks coming out are not impressing him. Woman just called in said Levin was right. So we have the Washington 2-Step and likely got snookered again :(

Pres gets $2Trillion debt limit? Extend debt limit past election? Wasn’t having debt ceiling a topic of election next year supposed to be Boehner’s political brilliance and motivation to negotiate? Wow. Sad.

Cuts over 10 years, first to occur after 2013?

Looks like they will be breaking open Campaign at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. tonite :(

Some poster said to me “Dude get your chill on” Wonder what he will be thinking after this thing passes?!

Fox is “crawling” that boner is saying the cuts are $817 billion. Already dropped by $83 billion in less than an hour after obama spoke.

Disgusting. But then this will be like the continuing resolution where huge cuts were promised and it ended up being $32 million or some such paltry amount. Typical Washington Piffle :(

Nope, we sure didn’t fix it from 2001 to 2009, but that doesn’t mean we can’t in the future. Let’s look at it another way, however, if Gore was President in 2001 and we got hit on 9/11...what happens?

I’d wager to guess a lot worse things would have happened.

I think to many people here want to make things black and white and the real world doesn’t exist that way. People want purity here the same way the liberals at Daily Kos or DummyUnderground want liberal purity. It’s not going to happen and the more one side tries for that purity, they lose control to the other side. Without control, you lose everything. With control, you don’t get everything but you certainly get something. That’s the reality of it all.

Correct....and unfortunately for all of us, the courts have ruled a person is not a fetus. I don’t like it, you don’t like, most of us don’t like it. Our Constitution says we follow those rulings, which SCOTUS did in the 1970’s. If anything, they are doing exactly what you claim they are not...they are UPHOLDING the US Constitution, which is what they are supposed to do.

RE :"The leaks coming out are not impressing him. Woman just called in said Levin was right. So we have the Washington 2-Step and likely got snookered again :("

Levin still predicting the obvious?? I dont that anyone is snookered. This isnt bad considering it came from Obama, Reid and McConnell, but would we expect anything better from those three? Now the MSM including FNC will keep repeating that the Tea Party Won and should take it. And the progressive/liberal/socialists in congress will have their fit today and demand obama invoke the 14th Amendment (their favorite) solution with NO cuts, providing much needed entertainment.

Lots of things to complain about in this bill, but the one that always bothers me is when they set the 'cuts' to go into effect not until under another congress.

There are actually some Freepers who like it.
I don’t like anything about it. I think it was a sellout..Debt ceiling raise of 2.8T, base-line budgeting, first cuts to take effect 1013, 12-member committee?!?! (didn’t we have a committee last fall???), $2.?T over 10 years?!?! Ugh.
