Limbaugh Finally Gets It
The Market Ticker ^ | Karl Denninger

Posted on 08/03/2011 4:55:33 PM PDT by Gritty

So this afternoon I'm going to the tag office to renew my vehicle tags, and I have Rush on the radio. I must have been touched by God or something, because just as I turned it on he started with a long monologue on how everything we've had for the last 20 years has been fake.

Cars, houses, flatscreen TVs, unlimited medical care for the poor, Medicare, etc, you name it - all fake.

Oh sure, the car, the TV and the doctor are real - you can touch them. But we never paid for them. We borrowed more and more money.

In short, Rush woke up to the reality of this:

Yes, he put a nasty partisan spin on it but you have to give the devil his due - he finally awoke from his long slumber. For the last several years I've wanted to smash the radio whenever he has gone on his "Republicans good, Democrats bad" mantra when it comes to deficits, taxes and spending.

Well, not today. Oh sure, today he had to say "Obama has been worse", but that's to be expected.

But he acknowledged - for the first time I've heard on his broadcasts - that what we've been doing, and are still continuing to do, not only hasn't worked but can't.

The people are waking up. Oh, it's slow, but they're doing it. And the small number who are awake and really, really *****ed off are going to turn into a very large number of extremely *****ed-off Americans in short order.

With good cause.

We've been sold a bill of goods in America...

Rush was very critical of W

How critical ya going to be after W's Dad let him spend the night in the Lincoln Bedroom, even carried his bags, and several years later, W throws birthday party for him.

Come on...

That kind of treatment might've affected your judgment.

But I'm not aware that it affected Rush's.

He gave W. a pretty hard time during his second term. Deservedly so.

Not saying that Rush hasn’t ever been against the higher ups in the Republican party, but he does seem to be “getting it” more and more.

The other day he, himself admitted that years ago, he brushed off people’s concern about the national debt. He now gets it.

I guess he’s realized that the establishment elites want to bankrupt and enslave ALL of us, him included.

First off, Karl, Rush bashes Reublicans all the time.

Not so much. My big complaint about Rush has been that he wastes time preaching to the choir about the Devil, which only makes the choir smug and doesn't bother the Devil at all. In the last few years he's been telling the choir about the sins of the Church Fathers (the GOP establishment), though, and there he can really have an effect.

I think he plans to destroy the banks when he gets close to the end of the Cloward-Piven strategy.

Hmmmm, I think you might have it just backwards. By the time the fog clears and the dust settles, the money changers will own America. THEY play second fiddle to no one.

Good quote. My guess is if Mr. Clemens could come back to our times he would most certainly be amazed and would recognize practically nothing... Except Congress.

"over and over and over again until we arrived at where we are."

And so it will continue until we truly are 100% bankrupt, with everyone out of work, infrastructure crumbling, the old and sick truly not being cared for, and finally a Fascist or Communist dictatorship or some kind of mutation between the two ruling every aspect of our lives. It's getting closer by the minute.

Obama thinks he’s going to double-cross them in the end. He has no idea what he’s up against. They plan to own America when he’s done and they’re through with him, and he thinks the exact opposite.

Very well said. I would add something that might not at first be obvious but it does tie in with the “class struggle”. That is, the solid middle and upper middle class are populated by a large number of small to medium business owners. The destruction of small to medium business is part and parcel of their plan. The population of small business owners are probably mostly conservative and present a problem of too many loose cannons to the ruling class. Much easier to control a few mega corporations than a bunch of mom and pop operations so they’ll have to go.

“The people are waking up.”

Not fast enough. We’ve got two to six years to persuade 51% of Americans to make a massive change. A hundred years of progressivism has taken us so far away from natural economic relationships with each other that the difference has become profound.

when 51% of adults DO NOT WORK.....when 50% of workers DO NOT PAY INCOME TAXES.....when 54% of the electorate voted for this nazi.......its a day in America...

for us...I guess we'll keep working....but I'm determined to use bloated tax schemes if I can figure any out for our income...and if it gets unbearable, we'll just quit, live off what we have, and stop feeding the beast...

I undertand the Cloward/Piven strategy and the Alinsky political game. I'm with you on where they think they are going. But, when I try to put myself in their shoes and picture what will happen when they bring it all down I can't begin to fathom what it means.

If they get to where they are in complete charge of a society that has no industry and no economy and no ambition and no future ...except to maybe violently take it back, what have they gained?

The fact is, most elected Republicans, think exactly like Democrats when they are in Washington. And that’s a real problem.

...Same thing happened in 08 with McCain. Lots of folks here went for "It's the best we have" route. After the election, the silence was deafening. First it was how did we lose? Then it went to blame the third party candidates. then it was bash McCain. Then it was Obama stole the election. Truth is, some of all the above. Took awhile for the masses to see the Repubs are as bad as the Dems. Thus the Tea party. Hell, people are even warming up to Ron Paul being right about some issues. Hallaluya, who'd a thunk it?

...Limbaugh and Hannity were shills for Bush and the GOP. That was then. They finally came around. Good! But, they best be careful and not try to say this is what they always believed. If they do, not only are they wrong, they're LIARS!!!

...Don't try it, guys...

Looks like Karl was just putting his “partisan spin on it” so I guess we have to “give the devil his due”... what a putz! Karl is the kid who peed the bed and is trying to blame his brother by telling Mom he tried to get him to go to the bathroom! He’s “I told you so” as he marches off the cliff.
