Texas Gov. Rick Perry : Is 2012 GOP Presidential Nod His for the Taking?
International Business Times ^ | Aug. 5, 2011 | Elisha Maldonado

Posted on 08/05/2011 8:58:07 AM PDT by Clairity

Despite having not yet announced his candidacy, many are seemingly already considering Texas Gov. Rick Perry as the man with the best chance to defeat President Barack Obama in 2012.

Under his stewardship, Perry has created more jobs than any other state in the country in recent years. The Dallas Federal Reserve estimated that all of the jobs created in the country in the two years from April 2009, a low of 37 percent (2009) to high off 48 percent (recently) were created in Texas.

Perry also supplies substance-starved citizens with a deep-rooted belief system. From the surface, his deepest views have not changed much since his early days in a cotton-farming community in Paint Creek in the 1950s.

"We believed in God, we believed in taking care of ourselves and one another, and we believed that America was the greatest nation on earth," he wrote in the preface to "Fed Up," the book he wrote last year.

Ostriches have nothing on some FReepers burying their heads in the sand, while chanting, Sarah, Sarah, Sarah.

LOL, thank you. I will get flamed but I do hope she doesn't run as she will get beat like a drum. The only ones that are crazy for her are on the far right, not enough to carry an election. She is great, a super campaigner but, and it is a big but, the baggage she brings will stop her cold.

Then why do you post in them? Why don’t you go post in a Palin thread? Just because the only Palin threads are about her big hair don’t slum it and post in here.

Dear Yankee
Eight things you ought to know before you start writing stories about Rick Perry.

Written by someone who is not a fan.

pursuit of personal wealth.

Remember she left office with around $600K in legal bills.

You persist in your inuendo while denying you are doing it.

Two book sales ($$$)

Two TV gigs ($$$)

Paid speeches ($$$)

I guess it is all about money, money, money not sex, sex, sex.

Innuendo? I do not engage in innuendo. I have stated clearly that all evidence of her post-quit activity points to personal financial enrichment as a prime motivation for the trademark.

You insist on ignoring the facts.

As for your sex, sex, sex comment, since I have never mentioned sex at all with regard to Palin (™), I can only conclude that you are projecting a personal issue of yours on to me....please do not do that again.

Have a nice day.

She’s got my vote if she makes it that far. I just don’t think she will be the nominee. Quitting as gov. of Alaska was a fatal mistake in my humble opinion.

And then they do as they’re told.

Yeah, but they're just so, so principled.

So principled they levitate.

Obama is done...stick a fork in him done. Our biggest problem will be maintaining an honest (as can be) election. That is our biggest weakness....any one of the candidates could beat the tar out of Obama as of now. So I don't buy your premise.

Sorry no sale. Reagan became a Republican because the demrat party no longer represented what he believed. We know that becuase we have the history.

Perry’s problem is that there is no credible history of his beliefs. He may be just another demrat masquerading as a Republican. We have four great proven conservative candidates already. There is no reason for me to take a chance on Perry.

That may not be what you want to hear, but that is Tea Party reality. We won’t be fooled again.
