Texas Gov. Rick Perry will make "a definitive announcement that he is in the 2012 race for the presidency Saturday," aides told Fox News.

The language is significant. For several days the Perry camp has said he would signal his intentions and announce later.

"This is it," the sources explain. No exploratory committee, no more deliberation.

Another "compassionate" conservative from Texas.

Just what we DON'T need.

Exactly. We’ve been down that road before.

I think I’m going to stick with Bachmann until or unless she decides to get out.

Rick Perry is NOT nor has he ever been a "compassionate conservative". Wait until you see him in the debates and watch how he deals with the media and his foes. I actually felt sorry for Kay Baily in the debates because he handed her her ass so quickly and straight forwardly it was painful to watch.

By the way the Kinder Gentler Bush Sr. endorsed Hutchison over Perry as did James Baker and Dick Cheney.

If we are going to exclude someone like Perry as a supposed “RINO” then we might as well hand the next election to Obama. I dislike true RINOs as much as anyone, but Perry is NOT one.

Great news! Finally, a heavyweight candidate has entered the race that can send Obama back to Chicago, Hawaii or Kenya!

Closed minds make for wrong conclusions.

“The poor” in Texas are represented by various activists groups who are saying this about Perry: that he likes to balance budgets “on the backs of the poor”.

That’s their published view.

I believe it was George W Bush who spoke of himself as a “compassionate conservative+. That was Bush, not Rick Perry.

The fact that they are both from Texas?

Millions upon millions are from Texas, and they are just as different as they can be.

Ron Paul, for instance?

H R Perot?

Sheila Jackson Lee?

I could go on, naming some very conservative Republican House Members, for instance, but why waste time and space.

The ad hominems and the guilt by distant, strained associations, never did fly, still don’t.

Perry has negatives. “compassionate conservative” isn’t one he can be tagged with.

I agree re: perry, but think Palin will stay off ticket. she can be more effective this way. She’ll run for Kyl senate seat in AZ, boost her credentials and perhaps flip the senate!

Another "compassionate" conservative from Texas.

Quite repeating mindless lies and cliches.

Texas spends less per resident than any state in the union:

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/5589438.html

WASHINGTON — The Texas state government spends less money per resident than any other state in the country, according to a new survey that also ranks Texas as the fourth best-run state in the nation.

Where do you get off making up this garbage?

-"Why does Bush hate him?"

Because, he'll be "BUSH ON STEROIDS"! and he doesn't want to be known for that!
